Samba4 as AD member & local rights problem...
Hi all, have a samba4 server as AD member (security =ADS). I have no account with "Domain Admin" rights, only a normal account with delegated privilege to managing GPO and for domain join. I can not manage the printserver resp. upload the win drivers. The smb.conf option 'printer admin' is gone with v4. I asked already in irc on #samba and got the advice to "make any

printer spool directory
HI! I've noticed that every time I install Samba 4, I need to create a /usr/local/samba/var/spool directory and give it 777 permissions. If I don't do that, I can't share the printers with my windoze machines. Is this by design? Should this be put into the how-to? Thanks -jimc

CUPS backend question - Samba 4
Hello, I have a DC that sits on a different subnet from the CUPS server that I would like to use. I would rather not install CUPS on the DC. Is it possible to change the server name away from localhost for the CUPS backend and have it connect to that other server to get the printers (load printers = yes) and print to that server? Must I have a CUPS installation on the DC? Thank you, Trever

Another Uploading Printer drivers problem.
...d still install windows printer drivers on the Linux server so that new windows client machines would not have to find the driver elsewhere. I can't see any reason why this should not be possible. I have created the print$ share and the folders described here: http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_as_a_print_server It looks like some parts of this wiki are rather incomplete. The printer works fine from the clients now (if I provide the client driver elsewhere) - but I cannot get the drivers to load on the server. If I browse the network - from a windows client - and select the properties of the printer w...

Point'n Print setup on Samba4 failing to install drivers
Premise / status: I've set up Samba 4 as an AD controller, and, according to the instructions on the [howto](https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_as_a_print_server), have established a [print$] share that should allow me to "upload printer drivers for Point'n'Print driver installation." The printers are visible from the Windows client, but the server does not have Windows drivers available so drag and drop installation won't work. Probl...

Access denied when associating a driver with a printer
Hi, I'm trying to get point & print working against a 4.0.10 Samba server (using the sernet packages if that's relevant). I have the printer itself setup and I've uploaded the driver, but associating the uploaded driver with the printer causes Windows to give an error: "Printer settings could not be saved. Access is denied". I'm seeing the same symptoms on XP and
