How do you join a Linux mailserver to a Samba domain?

detail here (it also tells you how to see which DC holds each role):

There is a wiki page on extensions, though there's not much detail there:

For the most part, things are no different than schema extensions on a
Windows DC. Except you need to use different tools to apply them if you
want to do it by CLI on the server. (You should be able to use the Windows
MMC tools against a Samba server just like you would against a Windows D...

Attributes on Extended AD disappeared...
hey,
I'm trying to extend my AD. For that, I start by adding to smb.conf,
under globals, this line: "dsdb:schema update allowed = true"
After that, I restart samba4 and installed Active Directory Schema tools
on a windows machine. I logged on with Administrator account and started
adding attributes. After some attributes, 12 approximately, the

How do you join a Linux mailserver to a Samba domain?
SOGo/Openchange is not willing i f it is not holding the fsmo roles. And by

on the fly even with
a real "Exchange-Server" if you are not carefull enough.
So the only way to make OPenchange live in your domain ist o join it as dc.
And status of development as far as I know this is hard to do.
Or you manage to

Samba 4 , ful list of LDAP-style attributes
sorry guys , I think I didn't explain well.
basically I have a samba 4 domain (created by upgrading+migrating a samba 3
PDC). For every new user that we add to this domain I need to save some
additional info which are very specific for our company/department, but the
problem is that I cannot create custom attributes into the Samba4 ldap
back-end. For this reason I was thinking to use some

Managing Samba Active directory.
Hi,
I've never been a Windows user, but I'm curious to see how the AD
integration works in Linux, since it looks like we may need to have one
or two Windows desktops and I don't realy want to start setting up
Windows infrastructure. If I can have Samba as a domain controller that
makes things a lot simpler.
I have one question tho, the documentation suggests using the Microsoft
