Managing a Samba4 AD DC using a Win7 workstation
...lo, I just installed Samba4 using the following doc : http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO Everything works Ok. All tests are Ok. Now, I would like to manage it from a remote Windows7 Virtualbox workstation. For that, I followed the following doc : http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_management_from_windows I installed the RSAT component but when trying to connect the Server Manager to my Samba4 AD DC, I get an error message saying the client could not connect to the server. I did some tcpdumps and what strikes me is that the Win7 tries to connect to the Samba4 DC on port 5985. But I don't have...

Permission issue writing to demo share
I created a demo share on my AD DC. After obtaining a copy of Win7 Ultimate I could now verify that the share has all rights granted to anyone (don't know how Windoze call "Jeder" in English). I can read and write the Share using AD\Administrator. AD\StandardUser can mount the share and read, what the Administrator put there. But he cannot create or modify files.

Freebsd 3.5->4 New Server Profile Paths Lost
I am migrating a Freebsd 8.2 Samba 3.5.11 system to Freebsd 9.1 Samba 4.0.4. I copied over all of the users home directories, local accounts, and the tdb files. I ran the classic upgrade tool, got the server up and running, and users could login however they were on fresh local profiles rather than roaming profiles. In the log file for the station, I found the following message [2013/04/13
