Samba 3.6 to 4.x: User Profile Service Failed the Login

working swimmingly with 3.6 (aside from its age and lack of support), and
I'm hoping for the same with samba 4. To upgrade, I took the following
steps, more or less in order:
1. Stop and remove samba36 from ports
2. Install samba4x (I've tried all the current samba 4.x releases in ports)
3. Copy /usr/local/etc/smb.conf to /usr/local/etc/smb4.conf
4. Rename samba_enable to samba_server_enable in rc.conf
5. Moved the smbpasswd file into where samba 4 looks for it,
/var/db/samba4/private/

Can you start by posting your smb4.conf, without this we are guessing
what type of server you have.

nmbd broken in Centos 6.4
CentOS 6.4 appears to have been shipped with a broken Samba 3.6. The new
NMBDSOCKETDIR option defaults to /var/nmbd, which of course is an invalid
directory and should not be created[1]. While hopefully they can fix it
with an option to their configure script at build time, could Samba itself
provide better defaults so that new options like this don't take OS
developers by surprise?

Migrating from Centos 5 NT4 style to Centos 7 issues
Hi.
I want to move my current domain running centos 5 to centos 7.
Samba3x ==>Samba4x
openldap 2.3x==>2.4.x
I move my ldap backup that I got from backups:
slapcap -l mydomain.ldif
Next move my config files to the new server:
/etc/ldap.conf
/etc/openldap/slapd.conf
/etc/openldap/ldap.conf
Schemas are correct.
Copy DB_CONFIG that doesn't exist on openldap 2.4, to /var/lib/...

I can do it at samba3x, or samba4x do it in a total different way?
