Samba 2.2.6 leaks file descriptions!
Hi My server has ran out of file descriptors(FDs) a few times since 2.2.5 up to 2.2.6. When looked into the problem I found a lot of smbd processes that had hundreds of open FDs. I am on RH 7.2. Any ideas? I have compiled the sources form SAMBA_2_2 CVS branch from yesterday. usally I just specify the --prefix= parameter to configure before I do make clean;make; make install I also noticed

Problems with smbd log
All, I use debian+samba2.2.3+apache+php+mysql in a netcafe for being an nt domain server and a charging software. Clients are win98. My problem is that the log is not reliable. Sometimes I do not even see the login session, sometimes it says that the pc logged off but not and so on. I have problems with about the 5% of the logins. problem logging on to samba domain (pdc) from a win x pworkstation
If I'm not mistaken, the sign or seal hack from samba2.2.3 is broken. Use the newer hack or manually modify your registry. AW: problem logging on to samba domain (pdc) from a win xp workstation
I had assumed that already and did that manually. Might I have to change further keys on my xp workstation in the control panel in order to become a domain member of my samba domain? Why doesn't the workstation find the domain controller = samba pdc at logon time? Do I have to modify any host file on XP, install a dns server? Cheers, Dominik -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: Jim

Samba maps any user to nobody -> problem logging on to samba domain (pdc) from a win xp workstation
I did it all again. The samba workstation account smb_cl is all right. My problem is that after I have joined my samba domain the domain logon does not work. At the logon prompt on my Win XP it says - that no domain controller is available or - that my machine account was not found. My log.smbd says at the same time: [2003/04/11 12:21:59, 0] smbd/password.c:authorise_login(872)
