PXE floppy, PXELINUX and LOCALBOOT
...T statement.
Selecting this statement, the PC retry to boot from the floppy... is
this normal?
The user expected that LOCALBOOT would have tried the NEXT boot device
(ie CDROM or HD), not the FIRST boot device (the floppy)...
(note: this has been tried this on a couple of PC...)
Bye!

Trouble with Syslinux 3.07 and USB-key
...ing to syslinux 2.09, it restarted to work...
Formatting the key, syslinux-ing it with 3.07 and recopying the
software, it restarted working, but boot time is about 10 time
slower.... minutes to load kernel and initrd instead of seconds...
Note: I'm using win32/syslinux.exe

Dummy question on Syslinux and MBR
Hi,
I've seen that syslinux does include also a MBR record.
But how can I install it on a HD under Windows? And how can I backup the
previous MBR?
Does syslinux help us on this task also?
bye!

Changing USB-key geometry from syslinux.exe?
...m also? Does this option also
change the active partition number from 1 to 4?
Well, obviously my dream is to use syslinux as a simple way to get a
fat-formatted usb-key bootable, with best compatibility with bugged bioses...
And having all this usable also from windows PCs... ;o)
Bye!

version of Etherboot, it seems pretty usable and useful.
At the moment, who is interested can send me a mail (please DON'T write
in the mailing list), I'll send the package to him by mail (380Kb);
later, a short report of your tests would be appreciated...
Bye,

...mplified version, I'd like to include in my built (but I haven't had the time
to do it...), as it check at install-time the correct etehrboot driver to copy
on the HD, while I could simply install my simgle multidriver image and stop...
the correct driver will be found at run-time...

I can't find any bug report reguarding this problem; should I post one?
I can supply a minimal executable that reproduce the problem.

SYSLINUX 3.05 released
I decided the FAT directory-parsing bug was about as serious as it gets,
so I decided to push out a new release. However, I decided I feel
comfortable enough with the new features (or at least, that they
wouldn't break anything else, knock on wood) that I did the patch off
the 3.10 development tree and called it 3.05.
Changes in 3.05:

Syslinux and USB support
Hi,
I'm writing as I'm an happy user of syslinux/isolinux(pxelinux, as it
has kade booting from floppy/hd/cd simple and reliable...
(I've looked the tons of workaround developers had to develop to
circumvent bugs BIOS bug in isolinux....)
I think that next frontier for syslinux should be USB booting: it
already works, but here also there are a lot of BIOS problem that a

Problems with isolinux.cfg
hi!
I?m working on a projekt ( unattended.sourceforge.net ) This is using a
linuxboot.iso
My problem is the following:
I opened up the iso with winiso, extrcat the isolinux.cfg, edited it with vi
for windows as follows:
# isolinux/pxelinux configuration file
default unattended
label unattended
kernel bzImage
# Add options (z_user=..., z_path=..., etc.) to this line.

Passing one more file after initrd to the kernel...
Hi!
I have a particular need... I'm not sure if this is the right place to
ask, but surely here there are people that can say me if it is feasible
or not...
I'm working for a thin-client distribution (thinstation.sf.net); I want
to boot it from various media (netowork, cdrom, hd, usb key...), and at
the moment syslinux/isolinux/pxelinux are doing it very well...
The problem is that the

codificación
Estimados compañeros me tiene loco un problema de codificación que no
logro resolver. Importo un fichero cuyo nombre tiene acento. Pongamos
por ejemplo "Adrián.doc". Escribo el siguiente comando:
mdoc<-list.files(path = dest,pattern = "*.doc", full.names = TRUE)
Entonces mdoc, además del path, se me presenta como:
"Adria´n.doc"

PXE 0.99h stacks... any chance?
Hi
I have searched the site, list archives, google etc and have not been
able to find an appropriate answer so I am asking it here. Apologies if
this has been answered already.
I have a kiosk-style pc which I wish to remote boot to keep it quiet.
This way I don't need a hard disk at all, keeping it truly silent as it
has a passive cpu cooler. Unfortunately, it has no upgrade options. I

PXE-on-a-disk Intel EM64T reboot
Hello! I have been successful using SYSLINUX and Etherboot to create a
generic "PXE-on-a-disk" package, a floppy image and CD image that
support as many Ethernet cards as possible.
These have support for all of Etherboot's modules that support real PCI
cards: about 25-or-so drivers and 250-or-so cards. I've built Etherboot
ZLILO images, one for each driver, set up to boot

DAO 3.5 and OLEAUT32.DLL troubles...
Hi,
I'm a Delphi developer.
Using DAO 3.5 (the engine for MS Access 97 databases) and Wine 0.9.15
or 0.9.9 I've got a trouble:
when I launch a query that uses some expressions (ie: "SELECT
Format(...) FROM Customers") the query fails, lamenting that the
function doesn't exist...
(A note that can help: Dao uses VBAR332.DLL or Expsrv.dll module to
evaluate expressions)
