Handling of merge requests on salsa.d.o for debian-xen.
Hello,
Some time ago I created some merge request on salsa for debian-xen:

Created 8 months ago, it's seem it's doesn't get merged, I would like to know
how merge request are handled on salsa.d.o for debian-xen ?
Thanks.

These looks like you want to send them upstream instead.

Plans for buster
Knorrie and I just discussed our plans for sid and buster, on the
phone. Here's my notes of the discussion.
Plan is to upload Knorrie's 4.11 packages to experimental, to make
them more public, while we fix the bugs in them.
There's a list of Salsa issues and the BTS bugs list. This
duplication is not ideal. We agreed that new things should go to the
BTS. For now we'll keep the two bug lists, and try to work on the
Salsa list first to get it empty:

domain administrator is always mapped to root
Hello,
I have found out that a domain administrator is always mapped to root in
the UNIX filesystem:
drwx------ 2 jive smbguests 1024 2004-12-23 18:59 jive
drwx------ 13 salsa smbusers 1024 2004-12-23 18:58 salsa
drwx------ 13 root smbadmins 1024 2004-12-23 18:56 tango
jive is a domain guest user, salsa a domain user and tango a domain
administrator.
Is it possible to change the root ownership behaviour?
Thanks

You mean at the package level ? libxenstore ought not to - see above.
I don't understand the message at the shlibs level. I think it is

Entirely new Xen packaging
...first time !
I have generated 18 patches to go upstream which I have sent to
xen-devel. There are two more, xenstore ABI patches, which need a bit
of tidying up.
There is still room for improvement but it is now clearly ready for
sharing so I uploaded it. The result is now in dgit/dgit/sid, and
salsa/master.
I do not know if it builds other than on amd64. I hope so, because I
have stripped out a lot of cruft. If there are build failures we will
have to fix them.

Ok possible. Though, it adds an unnecessary 46MB to my docker image.

This would hide the problem, right. I am not sure it's is a good solution.
Where can we review the build process for the apt packages?

Bug#776450: Xen PVH support for grub-xen in Buster
...ruction of domain 8 failed
(I get the same with your recipe based on upstream master, so I don't
think it's a bug in my backport.)
I can upgrade this host to buster at some point in the nearish future,
but not quite right now.
Would you mind trying out the temporary pvh branch of
https://salsa.debian.org/grub-team/grub ? I'd like to know whether the
resulting grub-xen-host binary package does the right thing, when built
in the ordinary way (I've test-built this branch using sbuild).

Hi,
I'm using a MacBook Pro with MacOS X 10.6.4 and am trying to print on my company's printer accessible via samba.
Whenever I try to access the print server via smbclient I get:

Actually the print server is alive and perfectly accessible via ping.

Thanks for doing all this work. I have just sent it to experimental.
I did some reviewing and diffing. I have some comments, or, at least,
things I noticed. None of them were IMO blockers for experimental.

Xen 4.10 for Debian experimental
Hi Ian,
can you please review and sponsor the upload of a first Xen 4.10 package
to experimental?
The work which has been done to arrive at this point from the previous
4.8 packages is visible at:
https://salsa.debian.org/xen-team/debian-xen/commits/master
The only commit which is not in master yet is the actual package release:
https://salsa.debian.org/xen-team/debian-xen/commit/7f8ce30800d9a29b3f4a9ad0a88e18c02dd65212
The source package built from that commit, and signed with my GPG key,

Xen PVH support for grub-xen in Buster
...tps://www.mail-archive.com/grub-devel at gnu.org/msg28125.html
The last pieces needed in the Linux kernel to boot PVH with grub2 landed
in Linux 4.20. I asked our kernel team to carry those patches on top of
the Linux 4.19 kernel that is going to ship in Buster, and that wish was
granted:
https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/linux/commit/4d63e6ccbbd6081068633b1147e0f77a59379795
Please see the commit message in there for an explanation why having the
possibility to boot PVH+grub in Debian Buster out of the box would be great.
So here's the question: Do you want to help completing the puzzle...

Bug#799986: xen-utils-common: please create /var/run/xen-hotplug from an init script
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.4.1-9+deb8u1
Severity: normal
With SE Linux it's desirable to give utilities and daemons the minimum
privileges.
That includes not permitting general utilities to create directories under
/var/run.
I think it would be best if /var/run/xen-hotplug was created by an init script
such
as /etc/init.d/xen (or by systemd-tmpfiles when using systemd units).
