Hi, pnorm(-1.53,0,1) under version 3.0.2 gives 0.05155075. I am pretty sure it should be 0.063. Is there something wrong with this version of R? preferred directory structure for multiple environments
Hello All, Moving from 2.5 to 2.6.2 and I was wondering if there is a preferred directory structure for using multiple environments? Does it work much different in 2.6 than in 2.5? When I made the move I assumed (I know) that my current structure and configurations would just roll over but that isn''t the case. A Modest Definition List Proposal
...y I prefer the tilde to the colon for this purpose. The best things about it are that it makes for a more natural bullet, already has precedent in dictionaries, and suggest equivalency if you're familiar with mathematics, which makes for a nice mnemonic. Comments? Has this ship already sailed? Best, David

An initial look at Trails
I''m posting this here because I''m sure that there are a few Rails fans here who are stuck in Java land at work and willing to consider Trails as a compromise. ( Web version here: http://weblog.masukomi.org/index.pl/view/trails ) First let me set the stage I love [Rails](http://www.rubyonrails.com) but I work in a Java shop. FastCGI: Apache 1.x or 2 on new Debian System?
Hi, I am just installing a new test environment, but this is just for preparing the next one, which will be a production server. I am doing a clean Debian Sarge 3.1 install with stable sources. I have to decide if I install Apache 1.x or 2 now. I have read that FastCGI is better supported/developed for Apache 1.x. Is this (still) true? What is easier, more stable, etc? I want to run rails

Successfully Installed Sea Dogs v1 Game - Need Help with DDRAW error.
...version is 8762. Direct Rendering is YES. OK - the problem with SeaDogs is that when I am in the game and on the "world map view", whenever I encounter another ship what usually happens is that a dialog box appears that asks me if I want to either "engage" or "continue sailing". As soon as this happens, the game screen goes black. Whilst the game is running and before this "encounter" the following messages are displayed on screen: err:ddraw:set_render_state Unhandled texture min 6 ! err:ddraw:set_render_state Unhandled texture mag 6 ! <-----...

Where are usbhid-ups driver parameters defined - and what do some of them mean?
...0 battery.charge.warning: 30 battery.runtime: 120 My questions are: 1) What is the difference between battery.charge.low and battery.charge.warning? I presume these are % thresholdsWhich of these triggers the low battery event? 2) Is there some way to change these? 30% charge seems to me to be sailing a little close to the wind. As the battery ages - I'm sure the UPS will cut out long before "zero" is reached. Also - if it comes back up with < 30% charge - and another power fail occurs soon after - that is not good. Are these set i the source code - or is there another c...

Samba hectic behaviour

Some background , the samba server is Suse Enterprise 9 (x86_64 platform) , we are running samba-3.0.26a-0.7 , with a connection to an openldap and sharing the printers via cupsd .
