safenet on debian etch
Hi List,
I just got myself a new everpower-1000va.
according to the compatibility list, the 'safenet' driver supposed to
support it,
however, when I try, I get this in syslog:

(safenet-ttyS1): No such file or directory
this is my ups.conf:

elsist UPS
Hi, I'm new of this list.
I installed nut with apt on my ubuntu64, my ups is an elsist and with it
I found the Driver's CDROM only for windows. It's branded Fenton but on
it there is also printed Safenet.
I had no particular problems installing nut with safenet driver. But
when I'm trying to connect it with the command: upsc elsist@localhost i
get this output
driver.name: safenet
driver.parameter.port: /dev/ttyS0
driver.version: 1.4.3
driver.version.internal: 0.03

TVPaint (SafeNet dongle protection)
Hi,
I'd like to use TVPaint with Wine. I know it can run (I ran the demo witch desn't need the SafeNet dongle installation, there is a few "bugs" but it still can be used.)
I've been told someone did a patch to use SafeNet sentinel protection dongle (I've try to use it but unsuccessfully as I'm not very good for programming).
Can someone tell me if it's planned to include...

[PATCH] ssh-pkcs11: allow providing unconditional pin code for PKCS11

Subject: [PATCH] ssh-pkcs11: allow providing unconditional pin code for PKCS11
Some HSM's such as Safenet Network HSM do not allow searching for keys
unauthenticated. To support such devices provide a mechanism for users
to provide a pin code that is always used to automatically log in to
the HSM when using PKCS11.
The pin code is read from a file specified by the environment variable

protocol for "Surge MAX"
I am sorry if this is an FAQ, but there doesn't seem to be searchable
archives, and the supported manufacturer's list doesn't include "surge
master". Google was also not much help.
I have just put a Linux box and the customer has a "surge max " UPS.
Anyone any ideas what protocol it uses? There is a Green serial cable.
The manufacturers web site is here:

NUT active on suspend
...ut however.
In retrospect, I have some doubts that it is a good idea to keep NUT
active when suspend-to-disk is used. It doesn't work right now (at
least, not for me), but I get the feeling that fixing this is not going
to be worth the effort.
At least one type of UPS (the cheapo versions the safenet driver is
intended for) forget all settings once they have powered off. From this
state, you'll have to initialize the communication with the UPS from
scratch to be able to talk to it. But since we have no idea what
happened to the mains during the suspended state, it means you'll have
to d...

[PATCH] ssh-pkcs11: allow providing unconditional pin code for PKCS11
...sake of one screwed-up HSM device.
I am happy to listen to any alternative solutions
I?m OK with a hack to take care of one non-compliant device. I am not OK with having that hack as part of the mainstream code.
?given that we are unable to modify the HSM itself.
Are you so sure? Does SafeNet maybe have a firmware upgrade? Did your people talk to SafeNet, with PKCS#11 v2.40 document in hand? Perhaps they can be convinced??
We solved the issue this way because we had a customer requirement to
support using Safenet Network HSM for some critical automated
connections. Unfo...

OpenSSH 6.3p1 Smartcard-Support
Hi there,
has anybody managed to get the eToken Pro Anywhere work with SSH? I'm using the latest SafeNetAuthentication drivers available for Ubuntu 64bit (8.3) and everything is working just fine except for ssh. I can use the eToken for logging in, openvpn, rdestkop, etc. but it seems ssh does not recognize the device properly. The command "ssh -I /usr/lib/libeToken.so.8 user at hostname" is...

seeking current supported crypto co-processors
...is messages is cross posted in freebsd-security and freebsd-net>
I'm seeking current cryptographic coprocessors supported in FreeBSD 8.x. By perusing through the crypto-dev (and subsequently referenced) man page(s) I found this list:
Hifn 7751/7951/7811/7955/7956 crypto accelerator
SafeNet 1141/1741
Bluesteel 5501/5601
Broadcom bcm5801/5802/5805/5820/5821/5822/5823/5825
Those are all pretty old (and in some cases, no longer existent). I'm surveying these lists to see if anyone knows of more modern chips working with FreeBSD 8.x. Or if you feel some chip on the list above...

Suspend-to-disk & NUT
I have found that it is impossible to communicate with my UPS when
resuming from a suspend-to-disk state. The driver is no longer able to
poll the UPS status and eventually will output "Data stale" and never
resumes. This may have to do with the UPS itself, the driver (SafeNet,
which I wrote and maintain) or with NUT. Suspend itself is OK provided I
stop NUT before entering sleep state and start it again after resuming.
Has someone else experienced similar behaviour?

Arjen

Driver Installation for HASP dongle in Kubuntu
Hello,
I want to emulate the software CAD Architecture "IntelliPlus"
Website: http://www.dp-cad.com/logiciel-architecture-3d/
This software is locked with a HASP dongle
Or the download page
http://www3.safenet-inc.com/support/hasp/enduser.aspx # latestDD
I can not install the driver for it to be recognized.
How can I do?
The HASP dongle does it work with WINE?
Thank you for your help

[nut-commits] svn commit r2726 - in branches/windows_port: common drivers include
...canonical input
processing some drivers require and overall there doesn't seem to be a
difference anymore between canonical and non-canonical. I'm not sure
if this will fly for all drivers. I foresee a challenging task to
verify that drivers still work. I can probably test the 'safenet'
driver, but what about the oldies that are still in the tree, but we
have not heard of being used lately?
Best regards, Arjen

instcmd "beeper.off "
...;beeper.off'
command. It looks to me that the HID subdrivers should support that
(value=1) and the belkinuniv driver too.
Of course this will have consequences for drivers that already implement
this command:
apc-hid
belkin-hid
belkinunv
energizerups
metasys
mge-hid
nitram
powerpanel
safenet
tripplite-hid
upscode2
Any thoughts?
Best regards, Arjen
