Hi I've been trying to figure out how to make dovecot read the system standard /var/mail/user, which is in mbox-format, while at the same time using Maildir as the preferred method of storage. I think the best way to tie this in between Postfix and Dovecot is to use an alias in Postfix for mailmirror at mailmirror.openlane.com which will check if a public folder exist or not. It will create the folder and then deliver the message to the folder (maybe via safecat http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2007-November/026661.html) Anyone got input or suggestion about my plans? ...lo, One of my users wants to be able to deliver email (e.g. via a procmail script) and mark it *read* when it's delivered. We use Maildir as our mail storage format. I have a bit of a hack script put together that will do it by directly manipulating the Maildir (it delivers the email using safecat, and then renames the file into the "cur" directory with the necessary flags appended to the file name), but this is a hack at best, and has the problem that if Dovecot is monitoring the file, it could potentially fail to work---there is a race between delivery and renaming. Heya folks First of all, sorry if this isn't the correct list, but yet, I think spam is a kind of network attack and should be treated as a security issue.. I run a working mail server using Postfix, MySQL, Courier-IMAP, SpamAssassin and ClamAV (amavisd-new) .. I've checked the configuration file for SpamAssassin, but yet I havn't find any good solution for spam.. Sure, spam will
