Packages build for Solaris ? As CSW packages ?
...ith us here at Blastwave. fascinating. I guess we can always send an email to the person doing this and just ask if they want those packages in testing and then into the catalog for distribution out to the world. Here is the complete file list by the way : # find . Computer accounts belonging to groups, using winbind on file server
Hi All, Some time ago I reluctantly moved DC functionality off my file server and onto a separate machine, due to the well-known challenges using the same machine as both a file server and a DC. This went mostly fine, with one exception - I have one piece of functionality that worked before, but I still don't have working now. I use wpkg for software distribution, having all relevant

dovecot 2.0.2 compile issues on Solaris 10u8 Sparc
I am having compile problems with Dovecot v2.0.2 on a well patched Solaris 10u8 Sparc system using the included gcc compiler. Version 2.0.0 compiled with out any issues using the same configure syntax. My ./configure syntax looks like this: ./configure --with-ssl=openssl --with-shadow Yahoo and Google searches turned up nothing for me. Reviewing the file mountpoint.c between version 2.0.0

packages and Solaris
Hi folks, I''m about to propose to my current company that we use puppet to manage releases of home grown software. The environment is a mix of Solaris 8/9/10 and RHEL 5&6. I''ve got a handle on how to create recipes to release software into the RHEL environment. The unknown for me is how to manipulate the pkgadd provider to load the locally grown package stream. Can

I get /etc/passwd copied whether the source is / or /etc. I guess that this -/ syntax is not usable with --exclude, but only with --filter. Try thus to modify your exclude file to: - /pkg/* - /sadm/* - /cache/* - /opt/csw/cache/* -/ /var/apache2/* - /tmp/* an call rsync ... --filter='merge YOUR_FILE' Francis

offline logon with AD
Hi yesterday I configured my laptop to login via AD usernames/passwords. This was working finally with using the sadms. Now I want to enable login when the user is not connected to the network. I found that you need to enable "winbind offline logon = yes" in the smb.conf. But actually this is not working. I'm using ubuntu 11.10 and whenever I logon via the desktop i get password not correct a...

how to update solaris packages without keeping local copies
Greetings, I have a solaris package stored on a puppet server. I''d like to be able to maintain the package on a client system without having to also keep a copy of the package file on the client system. (think lots and lots of packages) Checksums work okay for noticing changes on the fileserver, but it seems that I have to keep a local copy of the file as well. When I rev the package

I mean short of using separate excl files for each run Using something like the start of an absolute name:

I did mention that early on. I'm not sur...

system lib & user land & kernel lock
Hi: On niagara system, I am trying to resolve the Lock contention which results in low CPU usage. I have probed the Mutex hold event for heavy expensive lock releasing during user land processes test cycle. Any way to further investigate the call below is contributed by system library, user land process or kernel lock. This Mutex Hold: libsyssrv.so`__1cHSWMutexLmutexUnlock6M Thanks This

Samba ADS join dropping after reboot?
Hi all, I've been searching around and asking in IRC to no avail to solve this problem, and I don't know how to go about fixing it. I recently finally got my Ubuntu 7.04 computer joined to a Windows 2k3 server via samba/winbind/kerberos, mainly with the assistance of SADMS. I've also got PAM set up to authenticate users. It works great - I can issue a net ads join -U:Adminstrator and it'll go through successfully, and afterwards I can log out, or issue a login prompt, and login as an ADS domain user. That part all works just fine, and things are great when...
