...ll, The suggestions were great. However, after installing readline-devel I had to install ncurses-devel before getting sm to work. Can this be put into the RH 7.3 Readme when downloading R rpms (and other distbns like Mandrake where there may be a similar problem)? Thanks for your help. Error in make.names when trying to read.table in if statement
Hi, I'm trying to read data from a collection of CSV files for processing and graphing. All of my files begin with "modrate" and end with ".csv". I think I have the regex working but I am stumped at trying to get read.table to work within an if statement. This works: > filepattern="modrate*" > files <- list.files(pattern=filepattern) > data

mpl in spatstat
Hello all, I'm attempting to conduct spatial analysis of trees within a plot. I want to see if the trees are spatially correlated to soil characteristics, say pH, or moisture content. I think one way to do it is with mpl, however, my soil characteristics were not taken at exactly the same locations as my trees and further, the vectors aren't the same length. I'm getting the

Isocontour-lines of spatial data on a rectangular grid (not plots!)
Dear R-Listers, I have spatial data on an equidistant rectangular grid, similar to topographic data. I know that there are quite a few R-packages or base functions that provide nice iso-contours plot, but I don't want a plot, just the smoothed isocontour line of ONE level (e.g. 10 mm). Data sets are large, so it would be preferable if the availability of regular grid data could be exploited,

Command line option to run a story scenario?
Hi Folks, Quick question. Anybody know if there is a command line option to run an individual scenario for the given story e.g. something like: ruby stories/my_story.rb -s "the name of the scenario" Thanks in advance, Martin. PS: Really loving story runner at the moment. Got it hooked up with Selenium and the results are really nice.
