mean of each month in data
Dear R users, [in case the format of email is changed or you dont finf it easy to understand, i have attached a text file of my question] i have the data in the following format and i want to convert it in the format given at the end. Ta ans Sa are the names of certain cities. there are 69 cities in my data. column 1 is representing station name (i am writing the data of only two cities for simplicity but actually, as i wrote, i have 69 cities and the actuall table runs down very deep.) Column 2 represnts the year for which the data i...

OpenSwan Drop Out Issue
As I said though, there's no lost ICMP packets, even when the IPSec tunnel drops out. I do notice a lot of these errors in the secure log though, would this be any indication of a problem? (I'm grepping for this specific error, they're not the only messages in there). Feb 11 14:18:10 site-a p...

Antispam plugin / sa-learn
Hello, Sorry for posting on both list spamassassin and dovecot : my question is on dovecot antispam plugin, used to learn spamassassin with sa-learn. I wonder if there is a way to confirme sa-learn is correctly feeded by the antispam plugin. dovecot version : 2.1.7 spamassassin version : 3.3.2 (both packaged in debian stable, with postfix an...

Problems with dovecot 2.1.7, spamassassin 3.3.2 and antispam plugin
This might be a fairly long message, but I wanted to be sure to include as much information as possible. I'm having an issue with the dovecot-antispam plugin in that it seems to be unable to successfully run anything from the pipe backend. To qualify that, they run, but they fail ... Running /usr/bin/sa-learn directly always...

antispam plugin, pipe backend, how to make it work?
Hi, my setup is a dovecot 2.0.19 IMAP server on Ubuntu Precise with the antispam plugin in version 2.0+20120225-2 and spamassassin at version 3.2.2 I have been trying and failed to get the pipe backend of the antispam plugin to work. Spamassin by itself works, a manual call of sa-learn works fine. Bayes data is stored in a mysql DB. I have the following configuration in /etc/dovecot/conf.d/90-plugin.conf plugin {...

Trying to understand factors
I'm trying to figure out about factors, however the on-line documentation is rather sparse. I guess, factors are intended for grouping arrays members into categories, which R names "Levels". And so we have: * state <- c("tas", "sa", "qld", "nsw", "nsw", "nt", "wa", "wa", "qld", "vic", "nsw", "vic", "qld", "qld", "sa", "tas", "sa", &...

building random matrices from vectors of random parameters
Suppose I have interest in a matrix with the following symbolic structure (specified by 3 parameters: sa, so, m): matrix(c(0,sa*m,so,sa),2,2,byrow=T) What I can't figure out is how to construct a series of matrices, where the elements/parameters are rnorm values. I'd like to construct separate matrices, with each matrix in the series using the 'next random parameter value'. While...
