[PATCH] drm/nouveau/fb: fix suspend/resume fbcon
...is, that the kernel size increased so memory allocations were just shifted ... so we may get an used memory page, no? It's a race condition. > * Can you resume from s2disk correctly if you never start X The machine never locked up and X was also fine. The console gets messed: just snow. A s2ram clears it up. I may test this later. > * Do you have the problem with s2ram No. > * dmesg without and with either patch Blame me. I didn't kept them. But I remember I diffed them but that did not gave any hint. [Bug 104898] New: backlight problem with the NVIDIA G96GLM [Quadro FX 770M]
...hen I leave my computer unattended for a while Xfce turns off the backlight of my computer as there is no input. However as soon as it does so my screen stays permanently black. When I move the mouse the backlight goes on again; however the screen content remains black. The same problem occurs with s2ram; after awaking from s2ram Num-Lock works well but the screen stays black. However to evoke this error it isn`t necessary to s2ram; the desktop environment just needs to switch the backlight off. - using kernel 4.15.0-rc9+. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug....

Can you provide some more context regarding the issue ? * What hardware are you running * Which kernel are you having problems with * Can you resume from s2disk correctly if you never start X * Do you have the problem with s2ram * dmesg without and with either patch It might be useful if you can open a bug report and attach the information in there [1] Cheers, Emil [1] http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/Bugs/ > So it's about first put the bucket and then open the water tap. > > ;) > > chris >...

CentOS on Dell Inspiron 640m laptop
I ordered and just received today a new Dell Inspiron 640m laptop (it also goes by the name E1405). Anyone tried installing CentOS on this laptop? It's the wireless drivers I'm most concerned about; it's got the Dell 1390 internal wireless card (not the Intel wireless). Anyone have some feedback, on the wireless or any other issues, on running CentOS on this laptop? Thanks Paul

Firmware required?
Dear nouveau@, please forgive me if this is a FAQ or otherwise obvious; it isn't to me from searching the web, the nouveau mailing list archives and various Linux distributions' wiki pages. I'd like to know for which nvidia GPUs a firmware binary blob needs to be loaded to the GPU in order for nouveau to work with it, including binaries from what is often called

[Bug 25393] New: Repeated "EDID checksum is invalid" erros with varying remainders on NV43
...inted raw EDID appears correct however. Though commonly occurring when starting an X session or resuming from suspend, this also happens at seemingly random intervals with no apparent correlation with my uptime or how long my X server's been running. Graphical corruption is only visible after s2ram. N.B. Using current Fedora 12 packages, no modifications. Problems did not occur with Fedora 11 snapshots. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug.

IO error after s2ram resume; device stays open
dmesg output after a resume from a suspend. the device in question was /dev/sdb mounted on /home. after a device failure to resume properly, the link is then reset by the kernel but comes back as /dev/sde. /dev/sdb disappeared entirely, and is now referred to as sde. attempted to remount rw of sde, seemed to succeed, mount/mtab said that it was rw now but i couldn''t write to the volume

[Bug 26521] New: Bug in kernel module - ttm_bo_pci_offset
...it hanged on suspending after message "Suspending console" or something like this. One more note about testing I tested immediately after loading in single user mode and immediately after loading X server. Last kernel log, with stack-trace and NULL pointer error, I got after resume from s2ram. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug.
