Merge: sort=F not preserving order?
...sort=FALSE)
I want to preserve the order of data1 by setting sort=FALSE, however
the output I get is:
?? index ? tic
1 ?008823 PHM
2 ?008823 PHM
3 ?012689 KBH
4 ?012689 KBH
5 ?012689 KBH
6 ?012689 KBH
7 ?012689 KBH
8 ?004503 XOM
9 ?002991 CVX
10 002845 CTX
11 002845 CTX
12 012395 TOL
13 009302 RYL
14 009302 RYL
15 006669 LEN
16 025340 DHI
which has not preserved the order of data1, and also does not have a
clear relationship to the order of data2 that I can see. I also tried
converting both index fields from chars to ints and got the same
result. Any ideas of what is going on here?

Ken Olsen od DEC, 1927-2011
A lot of us wouldn't be here without him. DEC made good, really reliable
hardware.

Samba 3.6.1 losing browser elections to WinXP
Hello Samba;
I am aware this was a problem years ago...
This week I turned up a brand new server
to replace an embarrassingly old one. The
problem has re-occurred.
I expected this to be a problem long ago
fixed.
I have made the following registry edit to the
offending XP machine and restarted Samba.
I hope it sticks.
I have two questions:
1) Have I missed something in the configuration?

OT: DHCP address pool for specific MAC manufacturer
Dear CentOS,
This is somewhat off-topic, but I do hope to implement this on
a CentOS system, so here goes...
I would like to be able to setup a dhcpd (or like) daemon to
maintain two IP address pools. One for devices whose leading
three octets of the client MAC address are specified and the
other for all other clients. Both pools would be a defined
range on a commmon /24 subnet. There a
