Dovecot strange behaviors on Solaris
...nowhere (well, I did discover the whole lock_method=fcntl trick). I've tried enabling rawlog, but am just not familiar enough with IMAP to get help from those logs. Here's what's happening in a typical mailbox: % pwd /home/mario/.mail/Maildir/.SI2 % ls -al total 544 drwx--S--- 5 rvvk40 lowv 425984 Dec 2 14:42 ./ drwx--S--- 64 rvvk40 lowv 16384 Dec 2 14:43 ../ -rw------- 1 rvvk40 lowv 15 Nov 16 07:16 .customflags -rw------- 1 rvvk40 lowv 24 Dec 2 14:38 .nfs00986 -rw------- 1 rvvk40 lowv 24 Dec 2 14:40 .nfs08986 -rw---...

Help! Uidlist files are gone and won't come back; imap keeps coredumping!

Dovecot index issues (Solaris/Thunderbird)
Folks - My setup is that my mail is filed (by procmail) in ~/.mail/Maildir, an NFS filesystem. But I'm running Dovecot (1.0alpha5) on my local machine (as myself on port 2143), just to serve this mail to my browser (Thunderbird 1.0.2). The NFS data is on a netapp which seems to be creating .nfs files LIKE CRAZY. I expect these are the remnants of lock files, so I'm trying to move my

Weird indexing problem between Thunderbird and Dovecot
Folks - I just ran across this problem; not sure how it originally happened. I noticed that Thunderbird was displaying the wrong message body when I selected a message. I tried several actions to clean up the problem (stopping dovecot and thunderbird, removing all .thunderbird/pref/ImapMail cache data, removing all dovecot index and uidlist files), to no avail. Then I noticed that somehow a
