Rubuntu Live CD for Rails
Friends- I am almost finished with a custom live cd called Rubuntu ;-) This is an ubuntu live cd variant that comes preloaded with ruby and rails developers in mind. I already have it working with all the basics but I was wondering what extras people would like to see on this distro. What editors with what configurations? What other tools do people really...

New libpng in c2d4u3.5 breaks many other packages
...he has something to announce? > > Dirk > For a number of reasons, I have relaunched my R Ubuntu Blog. One is to give updates on installing R in Ubuntu, etc., which I have stopped doing. The other is I need to write more. I also wanted to try blogdown. You can find it here: http://rubuntu.netlify.com/ The first post is an update on the move to 3.5. The process is picking up speed. Up to 1730 packages in Xenial as I type this. As soon as they are all built and I test things, I will make the announcement. I have also added a note to the Ubuntu CRAN site to help clarify the sit...

Corrected msg about Linux Mint 19.1 install
...ux/ubuntu bionic-cran35/ When I "saved" in Software Sources to add the additional repository, I got a malformed repository error. So I took out the "deb" bit of the line, and it was accepted. I added the key for Michael Rutter and checked it is not the second key as per http://rubuntu.netlify.com/post/changes-to-cran-ubuntu-webpage-regarding-apt-secure-key/ Then I got "The repository 'https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu bionic Release' does not have a Release file." Note no "-cran35". Turns out that Software Sources added a "bionic&q...

Problem with ACL plugin system
Don''t know if anyone else has experienced this but I''m having a problem with the access_denied method in Ezra''s ACL access control plugin. It''s working fine (in conjunction with acts_as_authenticated) until it comes across a user it denies access to, in which case it throws the following error: NoMethodError in Admin#index protected method

Poll: Which distro do you use for Rails/Ruby development?
Good afternoon, I''ve two quick questions for the Ruby/Rails community. 1) Do you use Linux for Ruby or Rails development? 2) If you use Linux, which distro do you normally use to develop? Thank you for your input. :-) -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

BackgrounDRb background task runner and Application Wide Context Store

It also serves as an Application wide cache and context store for when you need something like sessions but shared between users and multiple backend processes like fcgi''s or mongrels.
