Pure Ruby HTTP parser
Before anything else, let me state this: Of course it''s going to be
PAINFULLY slow on MRI. That''s not the point :)
I thought I''d try out writing out a Ruby version of the parser for the
purposes of Rubinius. For those of you who aren''t aware, Ragel supports a
goto-driven FSM on Rubinius by injecting assembly directly, and Rubinus head
honcho guy Evan Phoenix is working on a patch for Ragel to update it to the
new compiler semantics. So really, there is a purpose for trying this out.

Rshaper Weirdness
Hello, guys, I am trying to get rshaper 2.01 to work on our Redhat 6.2 servers, but it does not seem to be able to control the bandwidth usage, here are the details,
1. Our production servers are all Redhat 6.2 with Kernel 2.2.19-6.2.12, the software we use are customized specifically for RH6.2, so I can''t upgrade to 2.4 kernel.
2. On my test server with the same RH6.2 and kernel (it has

[LLVMdev] Memory clean for applications using LLVM for JIT compilation
Hello all,
I've already bothered people on IRC with this question and it was recommended to ask it here.
First of all, some context. In Rubinius (http://rubini.us/, http://github.com/rubinius/rubinius) we use LLVM for our JIT. We create LLVM IR using the C++ API and turn that into machine code using ExecutionEngine::runJITOnFunction. The resulting native code is then installed as the executor for a method.
Right now we use a single LLVMC...

Per user bandwidth limiting ..for small ISP.using Squid
Sir,
Kindly excuse me. I am a newbie to LARTC..
I am a small ISP in rural India distributing 1 MB
link to 200 people.
I have been using rshaper by Alessandro Rubini for
shaping.
http://freshmeat.net/projects/rshaper/
My kernel is Linux version 2.4.22-1.2115.nptl( Fedora
Core 1)
Rshaper is very good in controlling incoming bandwidth
(from LAN)
I use Squid also on this Linux Box..
Right now I am using Delay Pools of Squid to control
bandwidth per user for...
