Browsing with duplicate names in multiple workgroups/subnets and multihome machines
You can see by the subject I've got an ugly problem. Even though I don't have a Samba server anywhere near the network in question, nobody understands browsing as well as the folks on the Samba team. :-) Here's the situation: I've got two workgroups, FLINTSTONE and RUBBLE which are on physically separate networks. FLINTSTONE has a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain controller; RUBBLE is a simple workgroup. All workstations are either Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional. There is no routing between these networks. However, there are two workstations which...

...an all agree, all faiths and ideologies, is that God is with the vulnerable and poor. God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house? God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child with a virus that will end both their lives? God is in the cries heard under the rubble of war? God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them. 'If you remove the yolk from your midst, the pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness, and if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light wil...

why is dovecot "Allowing any password"
...SOGoNativeOutlookConfigurationGuide.html) I don't know what that is, but that is a terrible requirement that makes me very suspicious someone is being either lazy or intentionally breaking security for nefarious purposes. I'd walk away. -- Lister: What d'ya think of Betty? Cat: Betty Rubble? Well, I would go with Betty... but I'd be thinking of Wilma. Lister: This is crazy. Why are we talking about going to bed with Wilma Flintstone? Cat: You're right. We're nuts. This is an insane conversation. Lister: She'll never leave Fred, and we know it.

Sieve script executed, but nothing happens
Hi all, I think I have almost solved my dovecot-deliver lookup problems, but now sieve still fails to work. From deliver's logfile I can tell the user's homedir is found and the sieve script is executed, but not as expected. My sieve testscript is very basic: /home/virtual/user.dovecot.sieve: ************* require "fileinto"; if address :is "to" "user@

Samba, the GPL and SCO
For those of you following the IBM vs SCO legal case, you have probably noticed that SCO has said that the GPL is invalid. IBM appears to make the reasonable case that you can't say something is void, and then rely on it. INAL, but why is SCO allowed to distribute Samba without agreeing to the GPL? That's like buying a car, then claiming the sale agreement is bogus but you still want
