Anybody on this list know how to create dynamic relaying with icecast servers? I have an icecast server and I would like to give my users the ability to stream their content from anywhere they are using an username and password combination. I have researched the web and have found references to rtptools, I know I should be able to set up a port to listen on and reroute that stream to the icecast server, but when I try it I get nothing. Any suggestions, hints or examples would be appreciated.

...me because I just want a one-way stream and in the case of things like Echo, Milliwatt, MusicOnHold etc the generated RTP stream is "synchronised" to the incoming RTP and so issues in the one direction affect the other. And I'm just looking for a lean-and-mean command line program! rtptools from Columbia seems to be almost what I want, except that for rtpsend I have to specify the desired RTP stream in more detail than I want. (I just want to generate a valid stream containing say "silence") I also looked at rat (from mbone days) - it can generate a "tone test"...

Hello, I've got two streams, one for broadband, one for dialup. Well, having had occation to use a dialup connection recently i checked the dialup stream. Although it was streaming what the broadband stream was, the audio quality was audibly worse. It didn't buffer, but it didn't sound as clear as the broadband stream.
