help with Rtools and Rgraphviz
Hi all, I want to install the package Rgraphviz on R2.9.0 (after installing Graphviz 2.22). I have not been successful in installing from the binary on a win XP pc. After looking up previous posts on the R and bioconductor lists, I installed the Rtools29. I have checked that the paths are correctly listed on the environmental variables window. I would now like to know how I can install with Rtools. Some of the commands that are listed in the R documentation are : 1. Run in the DOS cmd window : tar Rgraphviz_1.22.0.tar.gz 2.Put the ?.tar.gz? fil...

Windows Check/Build Configuration
I recently submitted a package on CRAN. When I went to update the package, I tried to do the check/build procedures on a system with Windows XP, using the recommended R-tools available from Dr. Ripley (Rtools29). Everything works fine in the check and build process except under Windows XP the pdf manual is not generated? The check procedure does, in fact, check the read files for correct syntax and required content and the manual passes "OK" on the check procedure; however, when I look for the...

...run after the warning without any complaints, and all tests rely on pkg2. I am quite sure there is something simple that I have overlooked, but cannot figure out what it is. Best wishes, Jon Platform etc: XP SP3, R 2.9-2, Rtools210 (the problem was also there before upgrading from R 2.9-1 and Rtools29 )

Problem building DLL under Windows
...have a pretty good grasp of how to compile libraries under Linux, and understand the concepts involved in shared libraries. I get the impression however that I'm missing something about Windows DLLs. Compulsory version information: OS: Windows XP SP2 R: 2.8.1 GCC: 4.2.1-sjlj (mingw32-2) (From Rtools29.exe) For the record, I've read http://www.stats.uwo.ca/faculty/murdoch/software/compilingDLLs/readme.packages.txt which hints at some requirement for DLLs to use _cdecl. I've started exploring along this line, but there's a lot of documentation to trawl through to make sense of it all...

R CMD check not running examples under Windows
All, I have a fresh build of R 2.8.0 from source on Windows XP using the latest Rtools binary (Rtools29.exe). All appears to be well with the install and make check-all exits cleanly. However, when running R CMD check mypkg the program jumps from checking for non-ASCII to checking the PDF version of the manual: * checking data for non-ASCII characters ... OK * checking PDF version of manual ... OK...

Problem cross-compiling on Ubuntu
I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) and R 2.7.1. I've built a package from source (a modified version of gbm) and it contains some C++ code. I now want to cross-compile it to get a Windows version. I installed R using sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install r-base sudo apt-get install r-base-dev So far as I can tell, I've also followed all the instructions in the guide

How to Populate List
...as6a169204c9460ab4@mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain Hooray! I got it to work. Here is what I think happened. My hold up was that the tar command was not working. If you recall, when I issued the command: tar xvfz RgoogleDocs_0.2.2-src.tar.gz cmd.exe told me it could not be found I reran Rtools29.exe which is the Rtools setup program which offered to change my path. However it still did not work. I went to lunch and took the opportunity to reboot my computer. When I retried after lunch the tar command worked and everything thereafter worked. I think that the file C:\Program Files\R\Rtools\...
