Strange Quality problems with Asterisk, Gentoo, Redhat and Kernels - /dev/dsp
...ed compiled, Asterisk 0.9.0 was compiled, I then used cvs to update to the latest libpri/zaptel/asterisk. Everything seemed fine. However, I'm noticing the occasional quality issue. First I just thought the music on hold was a little choppy, but that always seems normal, I blamed the zaprtc/rtcsetup thing I'm using to get zaptel timing. But then we noticed problems with Grandstream phones. The grandstream would connect to the Gentoo Asterisk Server via SIP, then go out via IAX across a T1 to the main asterisk server (Redhat 9), which then pushes the call via SIP to a Cisco Router that&...

ZAPRTC question(s)
I have a system with no Digium hardware in it (two others with 2 X100P cards in each of them as well). I'm interested in using MeetMe in the one without the hardware (it works great in the ones with the hardware). I can't use ztdummy, because the system has usb-ohci drivers, rather than usb-uhci. I have read the little there is about zaprtc, and I am wondering whether there is a

zaprtc on 2.6
Hullo. Having found http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000875 I grabbed the original 0.0.1 and Dan's patch, and whilst it didn't apply, I was able to patch the zaprtc.c manually - the Makefile has changed a lot, and I wasn't able to understand the changes. (this is all on a machine that's never had any * on it before, and has a 2.6.5 kernel with a matching

Static/Breaking up after I upgradedAsteriskaswell as a crash - Can't trace bug
...between older and newer versions? I have IAX trunking turned off, since it's all local anyway, but I am using the ZapRTC hack on our Asterisk server, the Real-Time-Clock replacement to give me Zaptel timing, so I do have zaptel timing. I have the modules zaprtc and zaptel loaded, and I have rtcsetup program running in the background on our Asterisk server. I have used meetme with Our_Asterisk and it works great. I had issues with quality when I tried to change the kernel on the Main_Asterisk server, I tried to upgrade to the latest stock kernel, but with RTC not compiled in, this way I co...

Static/Breaking up after I upgraded Asterisk aswell as a crash - Can't trace bug
I am also running a pretty recent version albeit not today's CVS, but CVS-HEAD-11/20/04-11:29:52. D you have problems b/w the Ciscos or only when going out to the PSTN?? I have 35 7960s with a PRI and no problems that you speak of. I do get an occational dropped call but that may be the DHC server lease running out on the phones. Can you tell us a little more about your setup???
