--copy-unsafe-links, links preserved in source tree or local directory?
...ther. See the example below. Is this the expected behaviour? Is the 'source tree' just the current directory? If so, it would be nice to have an option where only links pointing outside of the 'parent source tree' ('Test' in the example below) would be copied as files. rsyc-2.5.4 on RedHat-7.3 i386, XFS filesystem Thanks, Seth olsen@gps.caltech.edu example: chump0:~> ll Test/* Test/Q1: total 0 -rw-rw-r-- 1 olsen olsen 0 Jan 2 14:05 q1_1 -rw-rw-r-- 1 olsen olsen 0 Jan 2 14:05 q1_2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 olsen olsen 4 Jan...

rsync on symbian
...jus was looking for an application for manipulating images' exif data on my nokia phone. i couldn't find such an application, so i decided to copy images to a remote linux system, modify them, then copy them back to my phone. while i was looking for a copy application (like scp) i found rsyc running on symbian. i checked rsync home page, and i could't find any news on it. so i write this letter to the mailing list informing you about this rsync port. you can find more information here: http://www.sshforwarding.com/symbian-rsync i hope this is a usefull info. homer

The rsync command which I assumed would do the job: $ rsyc -zrv --delete --force --exclude=".svn" SRC DEST Since the destination folders are under subversion control, each folder has a ".svn" folder holding the versioning information. I would prefer these not be deleted each time rsync ran, hence the --exclude=".svn" flag....

--fuzzy question
Hi, I have a file that changes slightly in size every day and has the timestamp appended to it.. for example on the 14th may: MybackedUpFileBlabla_200905140219.bak This is transferred by rsync to another server. The next day that file is deleted and substituted by a new file on the sender.. the new file would be named for example (15th May): MybackedUpFileBlabla_200905150221.bak The new file
