RSetReg.exe
R v2.3.0 patched from today: Was just checking out the RSetReg.exe application after reading about it in "R for Windows FAQ": "After installation you can add the Registry entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE by running RSetReg.exe in the bin folder, and remove them by running this with argument /U. Note that this requires administrative privileges and...

Possible uninstall problem on windows.
...still removed the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\R-core\R\Current Version HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\R-core\R\InstallPath values. It should not have removed these keys. Sometimes this does not happen, and I have not found a consistent explanation when it happens and when not. Sometimes also running RSetReg.exe creates a second entry like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\R-core\R\2.7.2 which has identical content with the first one. The registry really looks like having 2 identical entries. Is this something which I should file as a bug? -- Erich Neuwirth, University of Vienna Faculty of Computer Scien...

Using system() to dump HDF to text file?
Hi all -- I am working on 64-bit Windows XP. I'm not a very technical person when it comes to the command line stuff, so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. I have a bunch of HDF files, and I want to dump a single PM25 data layer from each file to .txt by invoking ncdump.exe from system(). Here's a sample command string: "C:/ncdump -v PM25 C:/01aug2010.hdf >

Opening R from Tinn without setting directory each time
Hi - I can access R from Tinn-R by going to Options->Main->Application/R and setting the search path, but each time I exit Tinn-R I have to redefine the search path. Is there no way of fixing that directory as default? I have installed R under its default directory C:/Program Files/R/R-2.7.1 and Tinn under a variety of different places to try to rectify the problem though currently under
