RS485 Audio device
Hi All,
Is there any devices or pair of devices that do audio over RS485
and then convert to SIP for us in asterisk?
Of course a speaker and push button at the other end.
Is there anything like that out there?
Thanks,
Jerry

driver for Victron Multiplus RS485
Hi All,
I'd like to modify an existing driver to support my Victron Multiplus
inverter/charger. This device is not supported by the victron driver.
I do have serial protocol definition from Victron - which is a big bonus...
Could anyone tell me which of the existing drivers will be easiest to
modify? Thanks
Thanks

RS-485 over a half duplex serial in Centos 6.5
Hi, I am trying to make a program in C to communicate with a temperature
sensor over my serial port that uses RS-485 and is a half duplex. I am
however having trouble getting the device into RS-485 mode, is it possible
to use RS-485 mode in Centos 6.5 or does it only support RS-232 mode?

[HEADS UP] drm merged to -STABLE
I just merged drm (Direct Rendering) from HEAD.
- Support for latest Intel chips
- Support and fixes for many AMD/ATI chips r500 and below
- Support AMD/ATI IGP based chips (rs690/rs485)
- Lots of code cleanups
- Lots of other fixes and changes since the existing drm
is 2+ years old
If you are experiencing a "garbled" screen with certain pci/pci-e based
radeons, I have another patch in HEAD that isn't included yet.
thanks,
robert.

Process hanging on 6.0-STABLE
...organisations and we use FreeBSD on the PCs for data acquisition and
processing. We have recently shifted to FreeBSD6/amd64 and one machine in
particular is exhibiting a strange problem.
The acquisition process is a Tcl interpreter with a largish chunk of C code
which talks to the hardware (via RS485 and a custom PCI card). Once the
system is set up it streams data back via the PCI card and runs it through
various data processors (eg dump raw data to disk, FFT, winds, etc..).
The actual forking of processes is handled in Tcl and the C code only gets
involved to write the data out (to an FD...

jbus/modbus UPS?
Hi,
does anyone have any experience with UPSes managed with modbus/jbus
protocol? I have a Socomec/Sicom Masterys MC unit, that is equipped
with both RS232 and RS485 interfaces and, according to manual, supports
JBUS-P and JBUS-PH protocols. I'd like to get some basic monitoring
working, but I don't even know where to begin.
Regards,

GPIB-compatible instrument control with R
Hello,
Does an R package exist for communication with instruments using GPIB
(IEEE 488) protocol?
Something similar exists in python for control of instruments over
GPIB, RS232, or USB buses (http://pyvisa.sourceforge.net/)
Thanks,
Marko

phone as control interface (was 99 bottles of beer)
...kind of little computers you might
find in you microwave, etc. Only these ones are designed with an open-ended
consumer programmable interface for creating general purpose devices. (These
little guys also support a neat mode where you can create a master/slave
network of many of them kinda like an RS485 industrial control bus. That
means only one of these devices needs to connect to your PC but you could
control hundreds of these in robotic control or data acquisition type
scenarios.
This is only the tip of the iceberg and I am certainly not the authority on
this. But take a look at some of the l...
