shutdown_clients has no effect on doveadm stop
I try to restart dovecot 2.2.24 (for changing limits) without killing
all IMAP and POP3 sessions.
dovecot(1) tells me:
When shutdown_clients is set to no, existing sessions will continue to
use the old settings, after a dovecot reload. Also all sessions will
keep alive after a dovecot stop.
By default all active sessions will be shut down.

ACL MySQL dict: to_user==from_user entries
Hi!
We run dovecot 2.1.6 with ACL support and MySQL dict for
shared/shared-boxes/user/$to/$from.
When a user does a SETACL (via IMAP) to himself he is added as $to and
$from to the MySQL dict. Se for example this IMAP conversation:
5 GETACL INBOX
* ACL "INBOX" "user at domain" lrwstipekxacd
5 OK Getacl completed.
6 SETACL INBOX user at domain lrwstipekxacd
6 OK Setacl

ACL with MySQL dict => full table scans
Hi!
I'm just installing ACL support on 2.1.6.
When a user changes these ACLs, this results in a full table scan on
the dictionary, that tells dovecot who shares with whom.
Here's what queries I see when I run
$ doveadm acl delete -u user1 shared/user2/folder user=user1
1: SELECT dummy,to_user,from_user FROM imap_acl_shares
2: SELECT dummy,from_user FROM imap_acl_anyone

sieve 0.1.14: vacation encodes Subject twice
Hi!
I noticed the following problem in dovecot-1.2-sieve-0.1.14:
The following vacation causes trouble with the Subject line:
if not exists ["List-Id", "List-Post"] {
vacation :days 7 :addresses ["test at netcologne.de"] :subject "=?utf-8?b?w4TDlsOc?= sadasd" "Bin gerade nicht hier.";
}
As you can see, the Subject is already MIME encoded

Size detection/replair does not work with zlib
Hi!
Usually dovecot auto detects or repairs the size of a maildir
message. So I can place a message named "foo" in the cur directory
and dovecot uses it.
Now I tried the same with a zlib compressed message but here dovecot
doesn't recognize/repair the size of the message.
When I access this folder via IMAP the connection is diconnected and
in dovecot logs I see the following

segfault in IMAP APPEND with compressed maildir
Hi!
After upgrading from Debian wheezy with (self compiled) dovecot 2.2.15
to Debian jessie with (self compiled) 2.2.24, I observe the following
segmentation fault in the logs:
