I basically wondered if at the moment I ought to install Rmpi against another form of mpi (not openmpi) and wondered whether anyone could pass on any experience. Over the weekend my workstation (still on CentOS 3) started showing SMART errors, so we shut it down and moved everything onto a new drive.
