Snow Leopard and Samba
A customer has an expanding number of Mac computers. Last Friday and
existing machine started having problems writing files to a Samba share
on a CentOS 5.x server. They had no problems prior to Friday. They are
getting permission failure errors in creating files and folders. I made
the sare owned by the user and group with group write enabled. Even
with him as the owner he can not write

Sendmail Dovecot Trouble

Sendmail Dovecot Trouble
I've been struggling trying to get Thunderbird to read e-mail off a
CentOS 7 server.
Sendmail writes mail in /var/spool/mail
I've configured dovecot to try to read from there using Thunderbird
(POP3/SMTP).
The firewall allows ports 25/110.
I verified I have mail in /var/spool/mail
but Thunderbird is unable to retrieve that mail.

iPDF cluttering up file system
I have a customer using OS/X that creates thousands of PDFs per month
using a tool called iPDF ART5.
The server is Centos 5.x with samba-3.0.33-3.29.el5_5.
Every PDF he creates also creates a hidden file with similar name.
These files get rsync'd onto my server and my tape robot attempts to
save them to tape but generates file not found errors.

E-mail not being processed into Dovecot folders
I have a new CentOS 6 server running Dovecot 2.0.9
It has current patches from CentOS.
Pasted below are the version and output from dovecot -n
When I run mail -s "test" username
test
<ctrl-D>
mail is written to /var/spool/mail/username
and not to /home/username/Maildir/
The user's client software, Thunderbird, logs in but since mail
is not written to Maildir it thinks there
