Re: Routing inside box, is it posible ?
For anyone to answer that clearly, we''d need a bit
more information.
Firstly, what is connected to router1 and router2? In
other words, does the router box you want to use have
enough ports (and of the right type) to actually
handle all of the connections?
Secondly, can we assume that you have enough access to
the box you want to use to be able to install the
software and configure it? (This may sound...

[OT] Routing statements
So this is a little off topic but this list is so helpful!!
Is this the correct way to split our /24 block up? Tom suggested
something like this in an earlier post but that did not work either. So
what should I change to make this work?
Internet<===Shorewall Box===>router1<++++T1 Line++++>router2<==LAN
I need a /28 on the Shorewall side of things and the rest on the LAN
side of things. So routing looks like this:
Shorewall IP xxx.xxx.xx.1/28 route xxx.xxx.xxx.0/24 router1 IP
(xxx.xxx.xxx.2)
Router1 IP xxx.xxx.xxx.2/28 route xxx.xxx.xxx.0/24 to router2 IP...

Switch mode three-node routing problem
...an communicate without a problem in any direction. When I turn on
the roadwarrior - everything goes crazy: packet loss becomes huge (90%)
even for machines, which worked perfectly before, ping shows duplicate

working state.
Router1 and Roadwarrior3 are using tinc 1.0.23 version. Router2 uses

My policy file has this:

So that the local zone has full Internet access.
Where should I start looking to find the problem? The logs are not

Also as a bonus question, I currently have:

LAN and router1 all have a 10.1.0.0/24 address
router2 and the Shorewall local interface have a 10.0.0.0/24 address

conntrack-tools and Session syncing
Hi folks,
I have 2 firewalls, setup with Centos 5.2. They are also routers, connected
to 2 upstream routers.
I have some cases where connections from servers to the internet leave my
network via router2 and answers come back via router1. So I added conntrack
tools to both routers/firewalls to synchronize the session tables (using
ftfw procotol).
That works as expected. If e.g. I ping from an inside server to somewhere
outside, ICMP request leaves via router2, the answer comes back via
router1. conntrack -e on router1 shows th...

I noticed, that those nodes do never talk directly to each other via their

Furthermore, some talk only over a third node, that sits outside the LAN.
