Having problem with menu.c32 on serial console
...sion to a console server) or teraterm
in vt100 mode (with a null modem cable) to display the console. In
both cases the non-menu version of the config file works fine.
Has anybody seen a similar issue? Any known mistakes I am making to
cause this? Any workarounds?
Thanks.

menu.c32 works on serial console, but hdt.c32 displays on vga only.
...console_ansi_raw();
/* Opening the Syslinux console */
// openconsole(&dev_stdcon_r, &dev_ansicon_w);
Could the missing openconsole be stopping it from working
on the serial console?
Is there something I need to do to get hdt to run on the serial
console?

menu.c32 changes the key binding in tera term confusing user
...there doesn't appear to be any way to see the whole
line. A mention of this limitation in doc/menu.txt (or some way to
display the whole line) would be useful.
So I have workarounds for the problems, but it would be nice to remove
the surpises.
Thanks for a great tool.

Both mbox and Maildir
Hi,
I would like to know if it's possible to configure dovecot so that it
use mbox file format for the INBOX mailbox but Maildir format for all
the subfolders.
My problem is I would like an IMAP server which allow to easily create
folders and subfolders of folders, but at the same time I don't want to
break all MUA which rely on /var/mail/johndoe in mbox format.
Thanks in advance.

I assumed I could implement a parallel mechanism to the -L port
checking, but I am having trouble figuring out how restriction of the
-L ports is implemented.
Any assistance welcome.

Multiple PXE server Issue
We're working on setting up a Citrix environment within our school. In the
end this will work on a special computer lab, and possibly some of the staff
computers. (to deploy OS and applications).
Another group of IT within the school uses Ghost to re-image their labs on a
weekly (or bi-weekly) basis.
And here's the problem.... Ghost is using a PXE server so that the computers

Opinion wanted: metadata in HTTP requests
I'm thinking it might be an interesting idea to pass ipappend-style
metadata (and quite possibly additional information, e.g. obtained from
DMI) when making a http request, but I'm not 100% sure about the best
way to do it.
Options are pretty much:
1. some kind of metavariables in either the configuration file or in
the filename syntax.

Aggregating logs from numerous FreeBSD machines
Hi folks,
My stack of trusty FreeBSD servers always seems to be growing, and it's
getting to the point where the daily and security output mail is too much to
make good use of. I'm looking for suggestions for log monitoring and
aggregation tools, especially from a monitoring-for-security perspective.
If I had to imagine an ideal system, it would be a central server that
