Automatically create profile directory
I have my Samba PDC setup to use roaming profiles. If the user's profile
directory exists (ex: /var/lib/samba/profiles/someuser) with the correct
permissions and ownership then it works fine.
However, I expect (incorrectly?) that Samba would auto-create the user's
profile directory the first time the user logged in. Am I wrong or have I
missed something?
Thanks,

What I would like to be able to do is setup a Linux file server that Windows

The way I would like to go about doing this is what may be a problem.
I would like to be able to add a user to the Directory Server (Fedora) and

Weighting the author of a doc when that term can also appear as a frequent term in other docs
...per. So in light of this, how should we set our
weight on the author field?
Here is an example:
http://www.nber.org/papers/w11215
in which the term "Hoxby" appears 315 times, referring to several
previous papers by Hoxby
http://www.nber.org/papers/w11216
in which the term "Rothstein" is used 47 times
So if a user searches for "Hoxby", I would prefer that the comment on
Hoxby not utterly dominate search results for which Hoxby is the author.
But I don't want to set the weight on the author field to like 300, that
would cause a search for "Moore's...

Problem creating Samba Admin account
I am trying to create a Samba Admin account in FDS as per the final steps of

I've asked about this on the FDS mailing list with no luck, I am hoping
someone here will be able to help me.
I've created a file with contents:

I then ran:

Netgear FS116P and Cisco 79XX phones
I am hoping that someone has had better luck with this than I have.
I would like to connect Cisco 7940s and 7960s to the Netgear FS116P, and
take advantage of its POE. I know that the Cisco phones use Cisco's
"pre-standard" POE implementation, but as I understand it the difference is
really only two pins.
I bought a bunch of PowerDsine inline power adapters which supposedly change

CallerID retain on internal transfer
I was just looking through the Wiki for some info on how to retain the
original caller's callerid when make transfers to internal extensions, and I
came across the parameter below:
useincomingcalleridonzaptransfer=yes
There is nothing in the zapata.conf file from vers. 1.2.7 so I am wondering
if this is still a valid parameter. If not, does anyone know how I can do
this?
Thanks,
Joe

controlling SIP subscriptions from SNOM phones
We recently deployed 10 SNOMs as part of a PBX hosted solution. We have one
phone setup as the receptionist phone, using hints to show busy office
lines. This all works as expected.
This is a new installation, and people are just starting to setup their
phones. For those of you not familiar with SNOM phones, there is a row of
keys on the right side of the phone which SNOM calls function keys. In
