possible to me, since webgen tutorial already presents a plugin
mimicking this kind of feature, with the last updated tweak.
2) Custom HTML tags.
For my site, I''ve some custom HTML tags that I process before sending
to HTML verification; They are :
- rot13 for rot13ing text
- footnote for generating footnotes calls and content in an easy way
- isbn for fetching from a remote server book infos from an isbn provider
and some others.
Notice I do not ask you to write these plugins, but instead would like
to know how to write them, since I''ve a...

Encrypt/decrypt in R
...any one know of any encryption/decryption algorithms in R? I'm
not looking for anything robust - I want some way of printing output
to the screen that the user can't read immediately, but can decrypt a
little later. The main thing I don't want to the user to see is a
number, so (e.g.) ROT13 isn't appropriate.

Postgres connection
Hello all,
Is there any way to connect postgres with Xapian?
So that data can be indexed and searched with the help of Xapian but to/from
Postgres.
So, it would be great to integrate it with application which is database
centric.
Waiting for reply.
Thank you

Latest x86_64 != latest i386 packages?
I have CentOS 4.3 on two machines, one i386 (3.0GHz P4) and one x86_64
(2.6GHz Opteron).
Both have
centos-release-4-3.2
autoconf-2.59-5
However, on the i386:
perl-5.8.5-34.RHEL4
Whereas on the x86_64:
perl-5.8.5-24.RHEL4
Is this really correct?
I ask because when I attempt to recompile zsh on the x86_64 box, I
unaccountably get this error:

Installing el3 packages on CentOS 4
Is it possible to install el3 packages on CentOS 4? I'm wondering
because there are some packages on dag (for example ac3dec) that are
built for el3 and not for el4. Is it better to rebuild the source rpm?
Thanks.
Sincerely

kernel issues
there doesn't seem to be a src.rpm for the newest kernel up on
mirror.centos.org. i need to apply a local patch. is it the same as the
upstream version?
also, the centosplus unsupported version is either missing the -doc
package or people need to know to do some manual intervention to get the
regular version to replace the old unsupported version.

I have installed centos using automatic partition. I would like to

Thank you,
centoser.

mdadm raid 1 question
Does Centos 4.2 have the grub issue where the boot loader does not get
installed onto both hard disks in a software Raid 1 environment?
if so does 4.3 solve that issue?

Just wondering...is this a technical term? Where is it documented?
I won't offer any insight into what vision it gave me.

Tripwire for CentOS
Hi,
I literally have about 36 machines running CentOS on a private network,
and will probably change the remaining 30 or so away from Whitebox or RH
in the near term.
One thing I just noticed was when I tried to search out Tripwire RPM's,
that none seemed evident.
Can anyone point me in the direction of an Tripwire RPM that works with
CentOS 4.3, or advise me on how to create one from the

32->64 bit
Is it possible to take a Centos 3.7 machine - that was
installed with the 32 bit version of CentOS, and update
it to a 64 bit kernel?
In other words - convert an i386 to ia64. I don't care
about the applications, just the kernel.

yum and python. grief and grief. CentOS 4.3
Hello.
Maybe after work with FreeBSD I become too spoilt, but I expect that
packages from one distribution kit works among themselves well. But
that I see:

rpm-python-4.3.13_nonptl
rpm-4.3.13_nonptl
rpm-build-4.3.13_nonptl

Kernel build on i386 and nohighmem forbidden?
I looked in the release notes, but maybe I missed it. Is it not possible to
build a kernel from CentOS 4.3 (using 2.6.9-34.0.1) with HIGHMEM support turned
off? This is for a machine with 512mb.
When I try to build the kernel, I get _etext undefined symbol on line 100 of
pageattr.c in arch/i386/mm.

Centos Test repository
I would like to express my appreciation to the maintainers of the CentOS
distribution for the degree of thoroughness evidenced in the set up of the
test repository at http://dev.centos.org. I was casting around for how to
configure my yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo to handle a few packages that I must
obtain from the test area (firefox, which seems to have moved since yesterday,
and postgresql). I
