...nd the problem) but quasibinomial could be extended to take this link as well, of course. 2) warn people in the help information that with quasi() they should always give the algorithm a bit more help and supply an appropriate mustart. This works fine (even if the coefficient estimates are a bit ropey!): ################################################# modFit <- glm(y/w ~ x, quasi(link = cauchit, variance = "mu(1-mu)"), dat, weights = w, trace = T, mustart = pmax(0.001, pmin(0.999, y/w))) Deviance = 218.9552 Iterations - 1 Deviance = 123.2773 Iterations - 2 Deviance = 86.1380...

Engines 1.1.4
...script/plugin install -f engines to literally revolutionise your info market i-conomy and deliver outstanding impressions per meme. To further enrich your mind-lobes, why not peruse http://svn.rails-engines.org/engines/tags/rel_1.1.4/CHANGELOG, although I must honestly confess that the plot is ropey at the best of times, and the characters rather two dimensional. If you don''t know what the hell I''m talking about: http://www.rails-engines.org/introduction. This release is sponsored by Bud Light[1], Satan[2], and James Bond in an underwater Segway[3]. Encore/sundance boards?
I have this cheap "ENCORE 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter" which comes with its own driver that compiles to 'sundance.ko' and performs bad (30% packet loss) on a fully updated CentOS 4.4 box. This brand, model and driver have worked OK for me on some other CentOS installations, none of which are 4.4. Short of replacing the board, which you can bet I will do, can anybody

Samba4 - PDC - RHEL6 - Slow browsing from Mac clients
Hi, I'm in the process of rolling out a brand new server as a Samba4 PDC to a customer with about 30 users. It's going well except for the fact that I now have some serious slow browsing issues from Mac clients, and that?s when only a handful of them are connected to the server. Note that if I install software such as Dave from Thursby on the Macs, the speed issues vanish. Also, browsing

Audio goes one way during the call for a fewseconds. Is it RTP, NAT, dyndns, or what it is?
...(SIP) for all our inbound + outbound calls. Call quality was good however we would get random problems where people could not hear us or us hear them for about 5-10 seconds at a time. After weeks of trying to get to the bottom of the problem it appeared our VoIP trunk provider (sentiro/sip2go) had ropey connectivity at best. We have since changed provider and now experience no call problems whatsoever (after running extensive tests to the sip host such as mtr etc.) Jamie > -----Original Message----- > From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com > [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@list...

Storing RTP in Ogg
Hello learned ogg folks, and welcome to 2007. Sadly I am back at work already, and I'd like to seek your advice. We need to store raw RTP packets on disk as they are received from the network. There will be multiple streams of media--at least one audio and one video--that all need to go in the same file. We have decided to use ogg because it is the simplest container format that meets our

me.defeated!
Good afternoon (as appropriate ; ) I''m having a problem and thought I''d run it past these forums to see if there even was a reasonable solution to it. I''m trying to set up a rails application to pull data from a legacy database. The trick is, that the database really wasn''t created with RoR convention over configuration in mind. The trick is that every

Design and analysis of mixture experiments
Hi, I'm interested in experimental design and data analysis on mixtures, like cake recipes where the sum of the components is fixed; e.g. <http://www.itl.nist.gov/div898/handbook/pri/section5/pri54.htm>. I can't believe that R doesn't have facilities to design and analyse such experiments, but I haven't been able to find them (I have looked quite hard!). Can anyone point

SIP devices with packet loss tolerance
Greetings list, Hoping someone might have experience with poorly-performing net connections and which devices work best over them. One of our clients has a number of employees that work from home, and are given a SIP phone to take with them and hook up to their broadband. For the most part, this works fine, but there are an increasing number where sound quality is poor ("chops" in and
