Authenticate CDR Logging
Hi All:
I am mainly using my asterisk box for me and my six roomates, mainly for
DISA when we're on the road. Currently I use
exten => s,2,Authenticate(/home/supalogs/callcards) to check againt a list
of 10 passwords. The only problem here is that CDR does not log Authenticate
passwords, so I am unable to tell who made what call. If anyone knows how I
can...

complete linux and shaping newbie needs help
Hi there good people,
I''m a newbie in what concerns running Linux on machines other than
desktops, so I need help from all you gurus out there :-)
I have Linux installed on an old computer (Winchip C6, Pentium clone),
acting as a router/firewall for two other computers. Both these
machines are connected to the firewall via a dedicated ethernet card
each, on different subnets,

odd error between vfat and samba
[Please Cc: timball@tux.org on replies because I'm not on the samba
list]
Setup:
Samba 2.0.7 (from debian sid), Linux 2.4.3-XFS, Window95, Windows98
Problem:
I have a linux machine that I occationally duel boot and I wanted to be
able to share my mp3s directory to my roomate via samba. I figured I'd
just make a partition vfat and have both linux and windows export that
directory... but under linux there seems to be an odd issue w/ creating
a file larger than 800K on the samba share.
Symptomps:
I've tried multiple ways of creating a file on the samba share. F...

no tx audio
...machine as the server and
with iaxcomm on an ubuntu desktop, a windows desktop, and a windows
laptop.
The ISP's tech came today and I used iaxcomm on his laptop to connect to
my asterisk server and called one of the problem numbers and the tx
audio worked. After he left I tried iaxcomm on my roomate's windows
desktop and a friend's laptop, neither of which gave any tx audio.
I've been trying to debug this for weeks and still have no idea how to
proceed from here.

HELP?
...ase help, I have a Dec Alpha running Linux with Samba. I
can log onto it with net use, but I just can't get the pain in the butt to
appear on browse lists. I think the first problem is that nmbd is not
looking up anything. When I do an nmblookup it can't resolve anything
that I see on my roomates browser lists... nmblookup seems to not look at
the wins stuff...
I have read every concievable piece of documentation and I guess I
just don't get it... I have played with almost every varriable and still
it doesn't work!!!
I am almost becoming a non-believer in Samba over this one....

HOWTO: Use grip as a great oggenc frontend.
I've seen a lot of people in many forums asking for vorbis frontends for
Linux.
A little bit ago, I switched my roomate over from encoding to mp3 to
encoding to vorbis. To make the transition as painless as possible I
wanted to let her continue using GRIP as her encoder frontend. To actually
accomplish this project, I realized that if any real work was required on
my part it would never be completed (so source hack...
