Building a view for a 3 model has_many relationship
I''m working with three models: - Charge. has_many :budget_plans - BudgetPlan. belongs_to :charges, :rollups - Rollup. has_many :budget_plans This works out perfectly. A budget plan contains the ID of a charge and rollup and then there''s a 3rd attribute for hours. So working with data is no problem. My budget plan scaffold works nicely so I can select a charge, select a rollup and enter in ho...

Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4
Hello. Anyone else experiencing Problems with this update ? We do have W2k AD. And Samba Member-Server. This is done via Winbind without using Kerberos. After installing the Update to our AD-Servers. It seems that winbind lost its connectivity. wbinfo -t worked. wbinfo -u showed errors. After removing the update from all our servers, winbind works again. Should I move our configuration to

INTERNAL ERROR Report
I have read the BUGS.txt file, used 'testparm' (successfully), and run through all the steps in DIAGNOSIS.txt. I don't see any problems that those tools have identified. The BUGS.txt file indicated that INTERNAL ERROR was almost certainly the result of a bug. I'm hopeful I have sent you the information you need. Let me know if there is something more I need to send. Fw: INTERNAL ERROR Report
I realized that my choice of options for grep did not do a very good job of including the last error message before the INTERNAL ERROR. I've included it in this email. Sorry. create_policy_hnd: ERROR: too many handles (1025) on this pipe. Problem with Samba PDC, W2k SP4 + rollup clients, user accounts
Hi! I've one big problem. In my work we have a mixed network: one Debian Sarge with samba 3.0.14 acting as PDC and some w2k sp4 and windows xp sp2 pro/home with all updates (including w2k sp4 update rollup) . Samba uses OpenLDAP as backend using smbldap-tools 0.9.1 to manage users and computers. This setup has worked perfectly since december (the LDAP is used by other services as Apache,

Offline Files won't sync after Samba upgrade
Dear Samba users, Having scanned this list archive, this problem has been raised several times over the past 12 months on this list, but mostly without any response. Now it's happened to us too, and I raise it again in case anybody has figured it out in the meantime. All our employees are provided with laptops, and spend a lot of time working offline. We make extensive use of the Offline

Committing with git
> At the dev meeting I heard Doug Gregor say something like, "what kind of dirty animals are you, you just push directly to master!?" Based on that, I think other communities may set up workflows where they push branches to places, and some automation rebases and updates master asynchronously, optionally conditioned on some (light) testing or approval. Someone has already mentioned

Logwatch - malformed password entry(uid not number)
Hi All, I've the following in the logs and am wondering why they are there. I also keep getting emails from SAMBA log-deamon (or something like that). [2003/05/19 15:24:29, 0] passdb/pdb_smbpasswd.c:getsmbfilepwent(364) getsmbfilepwent: malformed password entry (uid not number) It's not really serious (at least to me) but it's a cause for concern. Below are the details LInux

Give users Power user access level to local machines.
OK I have searched high and low and have not found anything that works. We are running a software program which requires the user to have Power User access level on the local machine. The machines are Win2K sp3 and they are logging into a ADC which is Red Hat 9 (Shrike) and Samba Version 2.2.7a-security-rollup-fix. I have been able to setup the ADC and all users have "User" level access

Problems printing from Windows 2000
I run a small network at home, with a Linux server, which shares files and a printer. I also have a Linux PC (RH 9, KDE 3.1, CUPS 1.1.17) from which I am trying to share a Lexmark 3200 inkjet. Samba (2.2.7a-security-rollup-fix) seems to be generally configured OK - I can print to the Lexmark from a Windows 98 system, and from another PC running Mandrake 9.1. However, I am unable to print from two

Logging Detail
Hi all, I am using Samba 2.2.7-security-rollup-fix on a few RH7.3 systems. I need to configure the logging to show what user/pc is accessing what file. I've been through the How-Tos at Samba.org and read the section on configuring logging detail but either I'm too tired or too stupid (both viable options ;-) ) to figure out which level I need to get this information. Can anyone tell

FW: What version started building libsmbclient.so?
Ok, I have been doing a lot of reading and saw many references to samba 2.2.8a and libsmbclient.so and I thought that I would just go ahead and download, compile and install it. After going through configure, the make and make install, I still don't have a libsmbclient.so file to link my program to. I have never come across this before, there has always been a .so file created from any of
