USB passthrough
I was wondering if there are any plans to address USB passthrough with
Xen 3. I have virtualized Windows servers running under Xen on IBM
BladeCenter, and need to assign USB ports to different Windows
instances. The ports have copy protection dongles installed so that a
specific package can be run on each instance of Windows. We have 2
dongles and need to assign one to one instance of Windows, and

Visual Studio 6 Install Fails Hard
Running Red Hat Enterprise 3. I can install and run all of my Visual Basic
6 created programs (but I occasionally have Access database corruption)
but to troubleshoot some issues I want to install Visual Studio 6 under
Wine. However, every time I try to install, the PC locks up hard (clock
stops, no mouse, can't telnet in). I have to remove power and reboot, not
a nice way to reboot. Has

Vorbis libraries
Hello All,
Please excuse the noob-ness of my question, but I am just starting out with
Vorbis decoding/encoding. I downloaded all the necessary header files
(codec.h, vorbisfile.h, vorbisenc.h, ogg.h); however I cannot find any
pre-compiled static or dynamic libraries that I need, all I can find is the
source code. Are there any precompiled libraries I can download, or do I
have to compile them

Newbie Four Days on Rails
Hi all,
Having successfully gone through Bill Walton''s Tutorial ''Rollining with Ruby on [Instant] Rails''
I decided to tackle John McCreesh''s ''Four Days on Rails'' Tutorial.
I changed the Rails version as recommended in the tutorial.
All went well until I entered the following command:-
ruby script/generate model category
I got:-

Changing expression font
I'm trying to label axes using 'expression', but I would also like to change the font to Times New Roman (a requirement of the journal). I'd appreciate any advice.
Here's one example of several things that I've tried, including changes to par() parameters 'family', 'font', 'font.axis', and 'font.lab', which are not shown below.

Create a helper for models and views?
Hi!
If I have a method that is useful in both models and in views, where would
be the appropriate place to put it?
The method in question just takes two dates as strings, tries to parse them
and returns all dates in the range between them. It also takes care of the
issues when the dates are badly formatted etc etc..
This method is being used in several models (so a simple class method in

Realtime + MYSQL
I'm having a few issues with the MySQL realtime configuration in
CVS-HEAD. I tested it initially with realtime extensions (realtime_ext
=> mysql,asterisk,extensions) and a realtime switch in extensions.conf
and that works fine, So I though I'd go back and test a static
configuration mapping.
I used the table structure from the asterisk guru postgres howto to

New package: brant
Dear R users,
I am pleased to announce the release on CRAN of brant 0.1-1:
https://cran.r-project.org/package=brant. I implemented the brant test
(Brant, Rollin 1990) in R together with Prof. Marco Steenbergen at our
Institute.
The function brant() tests the parallel regression assumption for ordinal
logistic regressions.
Any comments, suggestions or queries are gratefully received.

AGI - Freakin Lost
Ok,
I have spent that past 4 - 5hrs working (trying to) figure some AGI
syntax out in perl. Maybe I'm Looney / slow or what I don't know, but I
am lost. I need to figure out how to send STDIN into the script. I
understand the concept of it, but lost when it comes down to it. No
matter what I try with standard <stdin> The app completes on me before I
can ever enter in keys. I

Re: unknown qdisc ''htb'' ???
Hello,
Could you tell me how did you solve your problem?
I have exactly the same problem but with this configuration:
- linux 2.4.20 kernel, HTB option checked
- iproute2-2.4.7-now-ss010824.tar.gz installed, which is the latest version I found at ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/Linux/ip-routing/, except for "try" or "do not use" versions.
I guess I do not need patching iproute2 and
