syslinux.exe, on XP, fails to run on a USB stick
I was trying to set up a USB stick with syslinux.exe, on a XP machine. Had the following problems: 1. Tried: 1.1 from XP native cmd shell: E:\>syslinux\syslinux.exe --directory /syslinux --install --force --mbr --active e: 1.2 and a similar command from cygwin. where e: is the USB stick. Install gptmbr with Windows
Oh somehow I never noticed that "bootsecfile" option. That's probably what I need to use. I was looking at the source to see how the --mbr flag works and thought that there should be a way to do the same thing with the other mbr files. Unable to write mbr using syslinux.exe
Hi, ? I tried to use the syslinux.exe (version 4.04)?to make my usb drive bootable. When i run the syslinux.exe with the respective options I get this error ? "Accessing physical drive: The request is not supported. Did not successfully update the MBR; continuing..." ? Hi, I am trying to create a bootable linux usb drive using syslinux command as given below but I am getting error as given below syslinux4.exe -maf G: Return code : 1 Output : Error : Could not write the whole boot sector I have tried to do this with syslinux4, syslinux5, syslinux6 with the same error message.
