Vorbis determined to be as good as MPC at 128 kbps!!
I am very happy to announce that the aoTuV tuning of Ogg Vorbis has tied
with Musepack at first place in the 128 kbps listening test. It has
beat iTunes AAC, Lame MP3, ATRAC3, and WMA standard. :)

AACplus
Sorry for the crosspost but it's relevant to Vorbis and Icecast I believe.
I'm seeing more and more streaming stations using AACplus, with many
listeners being amazed at the sound quality. Most say that a 48kb/s sounds
better than a 128kb/s MP3, which would put Ogg Vorbis at around 96kb/s IMO.
That means only half the bitrate is required in AACplus compared to Ogg
Vorbis for the same

If you still have your Sourceforge account, you can login to the Compile
Farm and try to compile Speex on an ARM machine (among others).
You can get more information on that at the
