Asterisk Sacrifice?
Hi is there any ritual sacrifice a newbie has to perform to be welcome on this list? I am new to this whole PBX thing in general and Asterisk in particular. I had hoped that the community on this list would welcome a newbie like myself and help me with some answers to my stupid questions, but somehow it seems to me that nobody likes to respond to somebody who appears to be a complete

automatic exploration of all possible loglinear models?
Is there a way to automate fitting and assessing loglinear models for several nominal variables . . . something akin to step or drop1 or add1 for linear or logistic regression? root fs type in fstab
Hello all. I am currently using ext3 0.0.5d with great success. I am a bit conflicted about what to tell the system regarding my root filesystem however. I have my root filesystem configured and working as an ext3 filesystem, but it is/was not without some fraught. Using RedHat 7.0, if you simply create your journal on the root file- system, figure out it's inode number, issue a lilo -R

0.12.4 dies with call SetTlsParms before
I upgraded from 12.2 to 12.4 and found that my happy little eventmachine processes die with: terminate called after throwing an instance of ''std::runtime_error'' what(): call SetTlsParms before calling StartTls Here''s what I believe is the relevant snippet of my code, which calls start_tls() in the connection_completed() callback: connection =

random output with sub(fixed = TRUE)
I've noticed what I think is curious behavior in using 'sub(fixed = TRUE)' and was wondering if my expectation is incorrect. Here is one example: v <- paste(0:10, "asdf", sep = ".") sub(".asdf", "", v, fixed = TRUE) The results I get are > sub(".asdf", "", v, fixed = TRUE) [1] "0"

Why is EXCEL SO SLOW on SAMBA?
Hello all, I have always experienced VERY SLOW response times on opening an EXCEL sheet ever since I had started to use SAMBA WAY back. I have been hoping that a newer release would fix this one issue but it never seems to happen. Does anyone know what could be the problem? I can open the same Excel sheet on a Novell server and it opens instantly. I have no problems with WORD documents. They

did something in revision 68 break stubs?
Hi, I''ve been a happy user of Mocha for a while now. My current project is by far the most complicated I''ve ever worked on and Mocha has made testing it much easier than it would otherwise be. So, I was highly disturbed to come in this morning, run svn up and find that something in today''s update broke lots of my tests. I use Mocha as a Rails plugin under

...use or collide (if using the common system path by silent default). Package recipes I've seen recently had used customized paths like `/usr/libexec/nut` similar to how `sysconfdir` is `/etc/nut` or `/etc/ups` (not using silent default `/etc`), so did not think much of it. Regarding the release rituals - it is a bit more than 3 minutes, poking here and there (nut-website snapshots, github release drafting, and stuff), but after a few iterations it at least got decently documented in maintainer notes. Also helps to not remember it from scratch after a decade, but actually *remember*from a more rec...

What is the most useful way to detect nonlinearity in logistic regression?
It is easy to spot response nonlinearity in normal linear models using plot(something.lm). However plot(something.glm) produces artifactual peculiarities since the diagnostic residuals are constrained by the fact that y can only take values 0 or 1. What do R users find most useful in checking the linearity assumption of logistic regression (i.e. log-odds =a+bx)? Patrick Foley patfoley at

Hello and thanks in advance for any tips or help. I just finished loading the binaries and installing samba 2.0.0 for HPUX10.20 using SAM. This is my second installation of samba on this machine. I reused my old smb.conf file with little or no changes. (ok I had to retype it from an older version because my machine died and HP10.20 can't recover 10.0x version multiple tape backups, but I
