frailty in coxph or repeated measures in cph (Design)
I am trying to build a model to aid a clinical decision. Certain patients have a blood marker measured at each visit - a rise of this may indicate recurrence of the cancer after treatment (endpoint is "clinical recurrence", censored). In a proportion (up to 30%), this rise is a false positive - hence I wish to correlate factors at the time of the rising test to clinical recurrence,

Rise Of Legends and Other Games errors
Well, I have some problems with 2 games:
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 and Rise Of Nations: Rise Of Legends.
The Pro Evolution Soccer didn't find the DirectX 9.0c and I try to install it 1000 times...
The Rise Of Nations: Rise Of Legends, runs normally.... But when I'm going to put the serial number a window open calling for the PID GENERATOR... I check it and the pidgen.dll is Ok........

Rise of Nations, not working under Debian.
This may be a dumb one. For some reason I switched from Fedora 8 to Debian 4. In each case I was running Wine 0.9.58. Same machine with same geForce NV18 video chip. The Rise of Nations: Thrones & etc. demo worked (as I recall) under Fedora but does not run under Debian. The game tells me that the video card is not supported. I checked the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and it seems to have IDed the

Rise of Nations
Hi,
I'm trying Rise of nations on Ubuntu 9.10 and Wine 1.0.1. I installed it thanks to this page http://www.damonkohler.com/2008/09/how-to-run-rise-of-nations-with-wine.html
The game started but buildings are all yellow and people are black... I think the problem is here

COFF::IMAGE_REL_AMD64_REL32 relocation overflow when compiling for x86_64
Thanks Andy, helpful as always!
1 is a possibility, but not ideal for us.
Could you elaborate a little on 3? I don't really know what a jump stub is,
but am guessing it's a kind of "alternative symbol" which would just act as
a middle man to invoke the "real" symbol in the static library.
If that's the case, I can think of a way to implement it for specific

deconstructing curve into rising and falling limbs
hello,
I have some data that looks similar to this (only not as nice as this):
Y <- c(abs(rnorm(100, 0.10, .1)), seq(.10, 1.0, .3)+rnorm(1, 0, .5) ,
seq(0.8, 4.0, .31)+rnorm(1, 0, .5)
, seq(3.9, .20, -.2)+rnorm(1, 0, .5) , abs(rnorm(100, 0.13, .1)) , seq(.10,
1.2, .35)+rnorm(1, 0, .5)
, seq(0.7, 6.0, .31)+rnorm(1, 0, .5) , seq(5.9, .23, -.18)+rnorm(1, 0, .5) ,
abs(rnorm(50, 0.18, .1)) )

Rise of Nations Gold fails to runs
I tried to install Rise of Nations Gold into Wineskin with wrapper 2.3 and WS7Wine1.3.22. I did this on a MacBook Pro Late 2008 (Model-id MacBookPro5,1) running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 fully patched.
I followed most of this guide: http://www.damonkohler.com/2008/09/how-to-run-rise-of-nations-with-wine.html, except:
-I skipped the symlink tricks because my RoN Gold is on a single DVD image (iso).

R and computer heat
Hi,
I noticed the temperature of my laptop rises sharply during execution of a
long R script that generates several hundred plots, all of them saved to
files. No screen output. Temps reached above 90 Celsius degrees in the box
and above 80 C deg in the processor. The machine turns on cooler at maximum
speed and exhaled air is really hot. Tried similar operations (batch

COFF::IMAGE_REL_AMD64_REL32 relocation overflow when compiling for x86_64
Some time ago I posted here regarding a relocation overflow on Windows
(among other things), but the issue disappeared and so the thread got left.
I've started this new thread because a) I didn't want to necro the old one
and b) it felt like its own.
I've now encountered the issue again and am noting down all the information
I can get about it whilst it's happening.
The issues is
