Doubts about mixed effect models
...d
three different answers about how to construct the model.
The first suggestion was to treat year as a fixed rather than a random
effect because it won't be practical to estimate the variance of a
random effect
with only four levels. So, I constructed the model like cited below:
m1<-lmer(riqueza~área*ano+isolamento*ano(1|fragmento),family=poisson
The second suggestion proposed to treat year as a random effect, as cited
bellow:
m1<-lmer(riqueza~área*ano+isolamento*ano(ano|fragmento),family=poisson
And the third suggestion also proposed to treat year as a random effect,
but to consid...

abajo",...

factors ordered by mean
Hi,
How to order the levels os factor not by alphabetic order but by mean of Y.
Somethink like this:
I have this alphabetic order:
> levels(pH)
[1] "alto" "baixo" "medio"
the order by mean os yvar is:
> sort(tapply(Riqueza,pH,mean))
baixo medio alto
11.56667 20.00000 26.80000
How to make the levels of pH ordered by this mean to the result to see
somethink like this:
> levels(pH)
[1] "baixo" "medio" "alto"
I try this to make a function that I need to get ordered level...

Problem with object inside a function
...emp. This object is OK, look the levels:
> print(levels(qvartemp))
[1] "baixomedio" "alto"
Now I create a new object with a new formula:
> new.form <- as.formula(gsub(qvar,"qvartemp",as.expression(mma$formula)))
Look this new object:
> print(new.form)
Riqueza ~ Biomassa * qvartemp
Now here is the problem, I try to update an existing model (mma) changing the
formula by the new.form
mmaa <- update(mma,new.form)
But my function is aborted with this message:
Error in eval(expr, envir, enclos) : object "qvartemp" not found
If I create this...

Yet Testing rKward
...ntinue testing rKward. I dont know how to save the results from a
script execution without use copy and paste or using a rkward output system.
Now I try to understand how adapt my script do use the rKward output system.
Example:
I have this script:
----------------------
## Carregar a tabela de riqueza e equitabilidade
library(gdata)
dadosriq <- read.xls("Panalise.xls",h=T,sheet=2)
## Resumo dos dados
summary(dadosriq)
----------------------
Using rkward output system I try:
----------------------
rk.header("Carregar a tabela de riqueza e equitabilidade")
library(gdata)...

Rarefaction Curve by Individuals not Sites - vegan (specaccum)

want, but not what I get!
Here is the command line used.
plot(specaccum(Spp[,-227],'rarefaction'),col='black',lwd=2,ci.lty=0,ci.type=
'poly',ci.col='lightgray',ylab='Riqueza',ylim=c(0,250),yaxp=c(0,250,10),bty=

Thank you very much.

another question on shapefiles and geom_point in ggplot2
Manuel:
I changed your variable names from x to 'long' and y to 'lat' on the
riqueza_out.csv file.
The code below should do what you want. Also, since the legend title is kind of
long, I broke it
down into three lines so you can see more plot area. I am cc'ing the other
groups so more people
use it if needed.
library(rgdal)
library(ggplot2)
library(sp)
library(maptools)
