namecache_shutdown: Couldn't close namecache on top of gencache.
Dear all,
Hi. I'm a Samba user from Taiwan. I'm running Samba 3.0.23,
Debian GNU/Linux 3.1r2, Linux kernel 2.6.16.14, gcc 3.4.4. I encounter
the following strange message when using smbmount:
imacat@rinse ~/tmp % smbmount //cotton/share ~/tmp/cotton
added interface ip=192.168.0.1 bcast=192.168.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0

rarefy a matrix of counts
Hi all,
I have a matrix of counts for objects (rows) by samples (columns). I aimed
for about 500 counts in each sample (I have about 80 samples) and would now
like to rarefy these down to 100 counts in each sample using simple random
sampling without replacement. I plan on rarefying several times for each
sample. I could do the tedious looping task of making a list of all objects

IAX2 help needed...
I run a phone in a remote office using the IAX2 protocol. It mostly works
fine; except that every 5 mins it loses connection with Asterisk, before
reconnecting 30 seconds later; rinse & repeat.
Using the IAX2 debugging, I'm seeing this a lot:
Tx-Frame Retry[000] -- OSeqno: 000 ISeqno: 000 Type: IAX Subclass: POKE

Home shares staying (NT4)
I am having the same trouble with automatically mounted home shares with
samba 2.2.1a (PDC, domain logins, roaming profiles) and NT4WS sp6a. If
I login as one user, logout, then login as another, I can view the
previous users home share as well as my newly logged in users home share

logins work, profiles work, login scripts

Dovecot director: show user breakdown by director?
Hi,
We have recently started using the director in some tests. We are using
the static passdb setup (proxy=y nopassword=y) for now, where
authentication is done on the downstream IMAP servers.
"dovecot director status" shows a breakdown of proxied connections per
backend, but there does not seem to be a similar breakdown of user
connections per director.

Dear all,
Hi. This is imacat from Taiwan. I'm new to this list.
I encountered the following failures when running "make tests" on
machines that haven't install OpenSSH yet. It seems to fail at
regress/multiplex.sh. It seems to specific to machines that haven't

I need to install rails on my system for a class project. I have ruby
1.8.2-14 installed and am entering at the command prompt >gem install
rails --remote
According to Curt Hibbs installation, I should get a series of questions
to answer yes to, and then info on the installation.
All I am getting is...

SAMBA AD DC Access Denied to Redirected Folders
Hi everyone,
I'm re-posting this because my previous thread (see below) for whatever
reason I cannot reply to. So I'm starting a new one in the hopes that I can
respond to those who made suggestions and hopefully get to a solution.
In a nutshell, I've got a SAMBA4 AD DC server running Debian 8 stable. It's
setup for roaming profiles, home dirs and redirected folders. Randomly,
