Functions within functions - environments
...on<-function()
{
a="a"
print(paste(a," from outer function"))
middlefunction()
}
outerfunction()
Here, R will tell me that the inner function has no clue what a or b is.
So what I want, is the inner function to recognize a and b.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks!
Rik

gluster for home directories?
...t we can prevent forklift upgrades every

storage for home directories we would like to also use the hosts to run
VM's in a hyperconverged setup (with their storage as an additional
gluster volume on those bricks).

[PATCH RFC] do_settime is backwards?!
...anoseconds, while
the value "y" is the value in seconds. The assignments to
wc_sec and wc_nsec seem backwards, though...
I hope I''ve overlooked some detail, but just in case I am
right here''s a patch to reverse the assignments.
How did this ever work?

I'm using R to do statistics on datasets, and now I need an f-test,
which I can't find in R.
Is there such a thing as an f-test. T-test seems to work fine, but ..

squelch-1.0beta5 ready
I've made squelch-1.0beta5 and uploaded it - you can find
it linked from http://www.geoid.clara.net/rik/squelch.html
This version has a config dialog. It works out which output
drivers libao has available and gives you a choice. You can
also tell it where your 'audio dir' is - though that works
a bit strangely at the moment - when you change it, all the
files you have in your playlist don...

Using variables from different environments in one function
...l then get next error message:
Error in print(AB + CD) : object 'AB' not found
I think I see what happens. The right variables are not present
in the right environment. Probably I did something silly, but I really
don't see how to solve this. Can someone please help me?
Many thanks!

Is this possible?
Script R1 could for example contain information about database

that would be used in several R scripts. I do not want to change all my

every time I change the password of my database for example!

...to implement this feature, but do
wonder how others are increasing their nfs-ganesha performance. I've put
some SSD's in each brick and have them configured as lvmcache to the
bricks. This setup only increases throughput once the data is on the ssd
and not for just-written data.

Rik

Simple password checker
...point me in the right direction for doing this, please
do.
I think I just need to call
auth_ok = server_validate(user,domain,pass,passlen,ntpass,ntpasslen);
.. but I think I must do a little more than just call the function.
What's the difference between pass and ntpass ?
Thanks in advance,
Rik

...hare/doc/glibc-common-2.12/gai.conf to /etc/ and tried that,
with several other permutations (e.g. uncommenting other blocks of "label"
and "precedence" settings) but none achieved the desired effect.
Am I misunderstanding how this is supposed to work?
Cheers,

[BUG 1282] time jump on live migrate root cause & proposed fixes
Hi,
I have done some debugging to find out the root cause of bug 1282, which
has the following symptoms with paravirtualized guests:
- after a live migrate, the time on the guest can jump
- after a live migrate, the guest "forgets" to wake up processes
- after a domU save, dom0 reboot and domU restore, the time is
correct but processes are not woken up from sys_nanosleep
The problem
