Entries in /var/log/messages
I have quite a few entries in /var/log/messages for connection attempts. Is there anything other than ignoring them I can do? Example is below. ...you've instaled Oracle JRE 1.8, OpenJDK is the default, as you can see. Remove OpenJDK and execute java -version again. Java installation problem.
I downloaded the jre-1_5_0_01-linux-i586-rpm.bin files and then run it as ./jre-1_5_0_01-linux-i586-rpm.bin. It resulted in an rpm file. and then i used rpm -iv jre-1_5_0_01-linux-i586-rpm Everything went fine and I didn't get any error. But when I do java -version ......i don't get any output. Thanks... Sam

migrating files for centos virtualization, virtual disk no longer boots.
All, I am playing with virtualization on centos 5. I took my old redhat 7 disks and created a 10GIG virtual disk, I installed redhat 7. Now I am trying to get the EXACT image copied off of my actual redhat 7 disk so that I know it is the same (including all patches, updates and OTHER things I did to it that I have forgotten about). I booted the redhat 7 image just fine at this point. I also

You can't get there from here
Having been accomodating about it in the past, the technical geniuses at Comcast have permanently blocked port 25, separating me (at my home office) from my employer's e-mail server. What can be done on the server side to keep Postfix listening on 25 _and_ accept my connections on some other port? Is there a Postfix solution? iptables maybe? Miark

When running Evolution 2.0.2 for the first time, with Evolution 1.2.2 folders and files in evolution folder in same partition, the automatic migration process starts up and seems to
