vdsm hook issues

Unable to retrieve Guest IP Addresses via libvirt API
...Addresses are not present within the xmldesc of this Guest.(not sure that they should appear there) I'm running libvirt-1.2.17-13.el7.x86_64 Did I misunderstood something ? Using unix-type channel ....

When adding a channel device, we need a shutdown
Hi, It looks like , when adding a channel device, that the Guest must be powered off / on to be able to detect the new device . ( simple reboot isn't not enough) Is there any way to avoid this power_cycle ? Thx. J.P. On which /dev/pts/x is channel source mapped ?
...which /dev/pts/x is mapped the source path ( from the host point of view) ? I was able to find it by having a look in the virt manager GUI , but I want to do it programmatically.
