If condition using accessors
Hi,
I'm quite new using R and have got no one to help me get through it.
Hopefully someone can help me with one problem I've been struggling with
for the last hours!!
(Sorry if I'm using the wrong terminology as well!)
I have a data matrix in which SIE is one of my variables. What I need to
do now is to create a new variable (group) if a certain condition in SIE
is met.

Closest value
Hello,
I have this command:
x.axis <- seq(from=0.5, to=4.5, length.out=13112)
How can I which of the x.axis components is the closest to a given
value, for example 3.2?
Best,
Dani

The equivalence of t.test and the hypothesis testing of one way ANOVA
I read somewhere that t.test is equivalent to a hypothesis testing for
one way ANOVA. But I'm wondering how they are equivalent. In the
following code, the p-value by t.test() is not the same from the value
in the last command. Could somebody let me know where I am wrong?

How can I use Adehabitat to obtain an .asc object with the predicted values of a niche model?
Dear all,
I'm using the package adehabitat in R to import several .asc files
(=matrix),
and also create a kasc object (=dataframe) with all of them.
The main idea is to use this kasc object to map the predicted values of
climate-matching model for an overall area. However, I don't know how to
proceed: Do I have to project the model (already stored in R) onto the kasc
object directly, or

I have a vector, lets say
x <- 1:50
I would like it to be cut at certain points, being for example 1:5,
6:11, 12:17, ...
How can I do it? I have tried the cut() function, but I don not know how
to place the cutting points properly.
Best regards,

Problem in matrix definition?
I'm implementing a function to compute the moore-penrose inverse, using a code from the article: Fast Computation of Moore-Penrose Inverse Matrices. Neural Information Processing - Letters and Reviews. Vol.8, No.2, August 2005
However, the R presents an error message when I use the geninv.
The odd thing is that the error occurs for some arrays, however they have the same size. And the R
