software metering under samba
...only allow a limited number of concurrent connections to some
programs in samba shares.

daylight saving time trouble
...at can be done about it? Is this a samba time server issue or
is it a win95 client problem?
The win95 workstations have the correct timezone "English
(United Kingdom) - HELP

seeing/setting file or directory owners from win9x just like from nt/w2k
...user or group from a win9x
workstation, assuming that the person logged in has sufficient
rights to do so of course.

allowing windows xp local service with systems accounts rights to access samba share
...running this service access to the share (if possible -
concurrently to a limited user account actually running the network
login script)
