Connecting without smbpasswd file
Hi; We've recently upgraded from Samba 1.7 to Samba 2.2.8 and we're using Samba to allow our users to connect to their Unix home directories from their PC's. Under 1.7 users were able to connect by mapping a drive from windows explorer and entering their unix username and password. Now, when we do this we get a "Incorrect password or Unknown username" error message.

Configuration options used in compiling Debian Samba 3.0 packages
Sorry if this is more a Debian question than a Samba one. Are the Debian binary packages for Samba 3.0 on the Samba site compiled with active directory and kerberos support? Failed to compile Samba with SSL

I failed to compile Samba with SSL on Mandrake 8.2 - error while "make all" in following sequence: cd SSLeay-0.9.0b ./Configure linux-elf make make install cd ../samba-2.2.7/source ./configure --with-ssl make clean make all Log of the last command attached.
