Hi list, recently I wrote a short article about building a
dovecot-sieve plugin for the current CentOS-included version of
dovecot:

USB devices - libgphoto2 - PTP - hplip
Hi,
Posting this again as it has been drowned. can anybody assist?
------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi All,
I'm trying to disable USB storage devices in Centos7.1.1503.
I've setup udev rules to block all usb devices and then additional rules
to allow specific vendors / products to be used (mainly keyboards and
mice). This is all working perfectly.

NIS or not?
...nd NIS and LDAP seem
to be prevalent. NIS being the simpler-to-setup solution for small to medium
networks as I understand it, while LDAP is the more modern and scalable
solution.
See eg http://www.yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/NIS.html or
http://sysadmin-notepad.blogspot.se/2013/06/nis-server-setup-on-rhelcentos.html.
NIS-wise, what is a "small to medium network"?
We have currently about 20-30'ish linux clients and servers, and the
environment is not likely to increase much beyond this point.
Is a 30ish-computer setup, a small network?
The only thing I'm trying to accomplish is a syste...

http://www.brucalipto.org/linux/how-to-install-gosa-on-rhelcentos-5
If you see errors on what I wrote please let me know and I will
correct as soon as possible.
Hope someone will find this useful.

i386 packages on fresh x86_64 system
Even a minimal install with nobase installs about 40-50 i386 packages on a
64bit-System. I know this has come up before and thought it might be an
FAQ, but I can't find it on the wiki.
Some questions are answered here:
http://www.goitworld.com/rhelcentos-x86_64-and-i386-packages-mess/
but I have these remaining:
- can I tell via kickstart to just install the 64bit packages?
- is it safe to rpm -e remove all i386 packages? (assuming I'm not going
to install any i386 packages later)
Thanks.

PHP 5.3: IUS vs CentOS repos
...removing php first and it creates package conflicts because it
doesn't provide a virtual php-common package. That suggests I should
install the IUS package. Is there any reason to avoid IUS and stay with the
CentOS package?
