I have data that comes in every 7 seconds or so and I'd like to display it in a spreadsheet, and possibly take user input from the spreadsheet. I have installed RGnumeric and written an appropriate R function that reads, manipulates and displays the data by writing via RGnumeric to a spreadsheet. The audience is a group of researchers and scholars who have either never used R/are beginning to use R, but otherwise have used a package called limdeb, and SPSS. There is also a request to cover Rgnumeric, and excel bindings to R. I have no knowledge of limdeb. Our current intention is to no longer include Rversion.h from R.h as from R 1.6.0 (which is months away). Package maintainers when revising code might like to check if they actually use Rversion.h, and if so include it explicitly.
